Does not filter out Chlorine
I had the filtered water tested - according to the comprehensive test there was no chlorine filtered out of the water. The Chlorine content of the water was the same as if I used no filter - and obviously it was filtered but the filter does not filter out the chemicals it says it filters out so it is like using no filter but it costs around $50 to non-filter the water. It would be cheaper to use no filter as this filter does not filter out the Chlorine it says it does. I may have received a bad filter - don't know. However, if you have an extra $50 laying around and would like to hook up a filter that does not filter - great. But if you don't have the $50 then don't purchase these filters as they do not work - point.

Gets most of the chlorine out.
I did a quick chlorine test using a swimming pool tester and could see that some chlorine passed through the filter. When compared to the chlorine in the water direct from the spigot I think this filter did a pretty good job. Check out the picture of the 2 compared. The glass on the right is obviously the filtered water.

Saved our avocado tree!
This filter saved our haas avocado tree! We live in Southern California where chlorides in the water are quite high. The leaves were showing signs of getting burned; we couldn’t figure out why. After installing the chloride filter on our drip system, the tree showed signs of improvement in two weeks and almost fully recovered in about 6 weeks. The new growth is very healthy and the leaves are happy. A+

Koi pond refill
I used these in order to refill my koi pond when it gets low during the summer months when water evaporation hits my pond pretty hard. One time I attempted to top off microwave pond without using one of these. The chlorines in the water wound up killing multiple fish. When I use one of these, although it is still stressful on the fish and yes I've had one or two die offs, it's nowhere near as bad as it was when I would use the water straight from the outside spigot. So, at least I have proof based on results that they do work. I couldn't verify how much chlorine and other things they take out of the water. As, I still do have maybe one or possibly two fish die off when I use these, they still must work pretty well versus the time at which I did not use these and my pond became a fish death pool.

I wish I knew about these a long time ago
I use these for several things. End of the hose for watering plants. If you use it when you wash your car, you lose a little water pressure but it greatly reduces water spots. I plumbed one in my swamp cooler line to reduce mineral build up. Just an easy way to improve your water.
