Q: Where is the product made?

My container reads that the catnip was grown in North America and that the Kong Co is in Golden, Colorado. I surprised that it didn't read "Made in China."

Q: is it grown & pkgd in the usa

I looked at the box and it says "Grown in North America". That could be Mexico though, else I think they would just say "Grown in the USA". Still I have six cats who love the stuff and are very happy, so I'd say its safe.

Q: Heard Catnip is better than DEET for repelling mosquitos. Has anyone used this ingredient in insect repellent on dogs?

Yes, it is very true Catnip essential oil is 25% more powerful mosquito repellent than Deet !!! I have purchased oil and mixed it with other base oil , like coconut oil or grapseed oil to make a mosquito repellent for myself, it is extremely powerful and effective. I am super allergic to mosquito bites, since I use this , I have not get bite often. The only thing is you will need to reapply every few hours if you are in bad area since it does absorbed into your skin. You can make a potent bottle with 1 oz base oil , but just 20-30 drops of catnip oil , if you do not like the smell , you can also add other good smell essential oil to cover up the smell, you can also add the oil to water, and spray it on your body or your dog's body. But , I know it only works for mosquitos, not sure it will have the same effectiveness on flea and other insects. Also, when you applied this , make sure you stay away from cats as they will just go crazy on you , I get scratched once I encountered cat on the street.

Q: Does this have flowers and stems or is it all leaves?

It has flowers and stems mixed throughout. The free toy inside is a paper like ball that just takes the scent. My cats didn't really play with that.
