Reviews said some Amazon augers on sale had too fragile plastic cable housings or thin cables that twisted into knots in the pipe. This has a durable metal housing and quickly drew the cable thru the pipe. The stiff 0.25" dia. spring cable turned corners but didn't knot up in 1.5" pipe. It broke down the coating on my sump discharge line, halving the pumping time necessary to empty the sump.

Absolute garbage product. It does not extend as your rotate the lever?? I got it 15 ft into a drain and it blew up with the spring popping out . Please do not buy this badly designed piece of trash

Can is cheap tin, plastic handle is small and weak, thumbscrew is awkward and can easily strip. Only bought this so I could put the 35' cable in my drill powered 25' much better quality housing (just fits)

This unit works as intended although hand feeding the snake is cumbersome. However the set screw broke within the first few minutes of using it. Luckily I was able to modify it by welding it and making it much stronger.A serious weak-point that would be easy to make better at the factory

Our shower was backed up really badly. We would get ankle deep in water pretty fast (it was pretty gross) and it drained extremely slowly. I tried drain cleaner for standing water and it didn't help at all. I didn't have the $$ to call a service, so I decided to take a chance and buy this. What an experience! It pulled up the grossest clog I have ever seen in my life. I put it in the drain about three times until the snake came up completely empty.When I tested the water, it began draining! It's been two weeks so far and everything is good. Very happy with this purchase!
