Excellent ONLY IF it matches your stove burner
Over all the product is solid, well made, there’s nothing to criticize about the construction, and a lot to like. The quality is as good as anything I’ve seen by Jetboil or MSR even if the design is a bit different. But that’s not why people buy pots with heat exchangers. They buy them because of the claims that they are more efficient and can reduce boil times by as much as 30%.The operative concept here is CAN And not … are guaranteed to.Stoves aren’t all created equal and on a minimalist stove with a small exposed burner and no reflector to direct the flame or wind screen to protect the flame those claims might be true. On two of my own stoves with larger burners and built-in reflectors (Jetboil HalfGen and Iwatani 35FW ) it made zero difference. This pot is 6.6 inches in diameter and I also tried it against Zebra stainless-steel pots of a smaller 5.5inch diameter on Evernew alcohol stoves with different stands and with a DX enclosure and again found next to no difference.Other people have tested this on stoves and posted positive results and I’m sure they aren’t exaggerating, but suspect that it’s as much a comment on the shortcomings of the stoves they are using as anything else. There are some compromises to pots with heat exchangers that you need to be aware of too. Not only do you only work efficiently on specific burner sizes, they work poorly on larger burner sizes than they were designed around. Most pots can be used with little compromise on any burner size. This pot is 16cm in dia but the opening in the bottom is only 8.5cm. If your outer flame spread is 9.5cm for example, you end up heating up the outer part of the heat exchanger which then acts as a deflector to keep heat out instead of a trap to keep heat in. The inner diameter on the 5 litre JetBoil pot, for example, is 18 cm and works well on the Genesis system. The 1.5litre JetBoil is virtually identical to the Fire Maple and would also be a poor match for the Genesis stove, but ok for smaller burners. So … where would this pot work exceptionally well? When matched with a Primus Firestick. Interestingly enough the cutouts on a Primus Firestick will lock into the FireMape stove like it was made for it. The result is a flame that’s better protected and a heat spread across the bottom of the pot so we’ll that the water starts bubbling all over the bottom of the pot - not just in the centre.Jetboil brags about being able to boil 500ml of water in 100 seconds with their Flash system. Guess what ? This Fire Maple / Primus Firestick combination will beat that 😜

Ok for now
This is my make shift short term review. The pot looked great upon opening it. The quality is good the locking system is nice and fancy and seems to work. However, real question for me is how it will look after I cook some bacon I'm it. I tested it right away with some Korean bacon and... it charred it up real fast. However using the scrubbing pad provided it did clean off easily with minimal water and soap, but did leave some discoloration even after one use... not a big deal. The scrubbing pad did not appear to create any scratches or damage to the pot. HOWEVER, I did notice a very strong metallic taste in one bite of food. I checked for any possible damage to the anodized coating after cleaning the pot.... I found none... so I don't know where that came from.ProsLightweightHeat exchanger worksEasy to cleanHandle locks outCons-Handle doesn't lock in to secure lid and contents-The tab to grab the lid while cooking falls down easily-gets stained easy-provided bowls and spoon kind of suck-mysterous metallic taste sometimes... will update later to see if this happens again

Just a perfect size for Pot and Pan
Very good Pot/Pan in itself. I can boil water, make some soup, sauté some vegetables, fries some eggs. Just a perfect size. Also perfect to nest a wood gas stove in it, making a neat cooking package.

Great practicality but beware.
This arrived in time for me to use on my AT hike but....... its base was too large. My camp stove i carry did not have enough of a footprint for the pan to sit on correctly. Its not a fault of the pot, it is just not compatible with smaller stoves. It has the foil pattern to increase heat absorption and it requires a larger foot pattern on your stove to not fall into the recession of the ring and I did not have time to purchase a different stove prior to my trip or the desire to. So like i said, not a fault of the pot itself, just wasn't aware of its compatibility issue

Not great anodizing finish
I have anodized pots at home I used to take camping but the handle and weight of the pot wasn't great for portability but they work great for making rice etc that's sticky. I chose this pot exclusively for the anodized finish hoping it'll at least be close to the pots from home. Unfortunately, rice was so caked on and hard to remove, I had to just cook the next item with the bottom with stuck rice.
