Aksys Waku Waku Sweets (#) /Switch

I bought this game for my daughter, but now.....I want to buy one for myself. lol. IT'S SOOO CUTE and adorable! The graphics are vivid and the game is calming. All the confectionaries and sweets and colors...and....YAAAAAAY! What I do like about this game is that after playing a bit, it advises the player to take a break and come back in a few minutes. I think that is really refreshing to see in a video game...especially for children. I also like that there is reading involved as well. So it's fun while keeping her reading skills up and some wellness thrown in there.I like that you can go shopping, visit the salon, local areas in town and meet other ppl who can try your desserts of the day. I prefer this game to "Cooking Mama" which is not a bad game, but you're only in the kitchen and cooking mama is always yelling about the slightest mistakes....lol. You won't regret it... I cannot wait to see what else my little one will make today. :)

I’m not a fan of the fact that you have to hold the left button for the motion controls to work but you may be able to turn it off in settings, I haven’t checked. The motion controls aren’t that great, you have to be kind of aggressive with them in order for it to register which sometimes results in you having to do the same move a couple times. The motion control issues kind of prevent you from getting properly immersed in the game. Because of this I think it is a little expensive for what it is, but I have the game now and will enjoy it. I haven’t got the handheld mode to workA good alternative is cooking mama cook star although it is no longer made and may be hard to find.

For all the reviews that say this game is just like Cooking Mama, you will be very disappointed. There is way too much reading and this game plays more like a dating sim - the dialogue is really cringy. The actual "cooking" part isn't really cooking. You kind of go through the motions, but you won't make any mistakes like you can in Cooking Mama. Really disappointed.
