The best designed portable pencil sharpener, we have ever used. It is easy to travel with, and even though it is a little pricey, it will last awhile. We only had to replace our current one (which we have owned for 5 years), because the dog chewed on it. Sad day. But even with the dog chewing on it, she only managed to warp the shape. She is an excellent chewer, which tells me how well-made this product actually is!Also, the top to empty the shavings clicks in place, so we have never been surprised with a pile of unexpected shavings being released accidentally all over the place, as we have experienced with other pencil sharpeners. It’s an absolute winner.

Cons: You don't get to choose the color you like. I hoped for blue or lime green. Received pink, my least favorite color. The largest hole in the sharpener will not sharpen pencils with large barrels (Magic FX Jumbo pencils) the reason why I purchased this product. The Pencil shavings are loose so yo need to be careful when you open the latch to sharpen your pencil.Pros: The pencil sizes it does accommodate sharpen decently. There are four protrusions on each end which allows you to stand it up on a level surface. Easy to pack away for when you have your art work with you away from home.I recommend this product for travel use and or for a quick sharpen during a project.

I absolutely love it because it doesn’t break or eat my very expensive watercolor and colored pencils. Works great for every kind I have. It saves me a ton of money. Gives me a great sharp point every time. I own expensive sharpeners from the actual pencil manufacturers that claim they are made for particular type of pencil and yet this one out preforms them all. It does 7 & 10 mm on one side and 8 & 11 mm on the other.

I bought and returned a couple of mid priced electric pencil sharpeners. This time I thought I'd try a good old classic. Reminds me of when I switched to a classic single blade shaving razor... sometimes the original way is better and saves money at the same time.I saw a youtube video on the "KUM Masterpiece" (long point) and it was obvious that KUM knows sharpeners. I wanted a point that suited my children and colored pencils better and also a catch for the shavings so I ended up finding this.You quickly get a feel for it and end up doing 50 pencils nearly as fast as a mechanical... you also end up saving A LOT of pencil. Nice, smooth and effortless. The blades do the work.I just got it today and will update this if it doesn't last long. If it gets dull on one blade you have three others you can swap around before needing to buy replacements. Hopefully the plastic holds up to my heavy use. If not, I'm sure I'll be looking at KUM's more robust units. Because these guys know sharp pencils.

I am on my third time to purchase this particular sharpener. My daughter just started Advanced Art and somehow lost her coveted pencil sharpener so here we are purchasing another one so that she has it on hand for her prismacolor pencils.I am also an artist and have to keep mine hidden from my children so that I always have mine on hand. It is simply the best one I have used in the 30ish years I have been creating art with prismacolors, stabilo, etc... It does not tear up the wood like other brands and the point comes out perfectly each time!A must have for any artist or colorist!PS I have never seen a blue one arrive to us in the previous orders so I am hoping three times a charm. We own the green and pink ones and they are very nice colors.

Bought a second one because the first was so great, and wanted to have one on hand for home and for my kid’s backpack. I love how this can accommodate 4 different pencil sizes and keeps the shavings neatly contained until you are able to dispose of them. The blades are sharp and sharpen cleanly with no problems with lead breakage. Highly recommend for a reliable, portable pencil sharpener.

I love Kum sharpeners. This brand has ruined all other sharpeners for me. I bought this because as a hobby artist, I sharpen pencils a lot and I was using a wooden Kum sharpener  Kum 107.02.01 Wood 2-Hole Steel Blade Pencil Sharpener, Colors Vary  much to the chagrin of my husband who would get upset everytime my makeshift pencil shaving trash can got knocked over by our toddler. So, much to MY chagrin I bought this and it doesn't disappoint. One side is perfect for my prismacolor verithins (which a lot of people have issues with breakage and I'm convinced it's because they don't have a suitable sharpener), and the other is perfect for my faber castell graphite pencils and prismacolor premiers. This DOES NOT sharpen to a long point, nor a short point, but a happy medium. Its sharpens very sharp, makes long clean and neat shavings, and will keep on going so dont over sharpen. Shaving are collected nearly in the container. My only complaint is that sometimes the little over shavings of lead will spill out the side that is upside down making a little mess. Probably wouldn't happen if I took more breaks to empty my sharpener...which I hate doing. So I'll probably bring the makeshift trash can back to sharpen over. Won't the hubby be happy.

I wish I had gotten one sooner. Received a different king from same brand as a gift from an art store. My kid took that one so I bought this one. It has sharpened some of my harder to manage prismacolors and does great with all of my other pencils
