Great book for Web Developers
To everyone that is unsure about purchasing this book. I fully recommend it to any web developer or web designer. This book takes a very simple and modern approach to CSS 3 and future of the web. Once you have finished reading it, it's almost guaranteed that you will go modify and improve your existing code (if you have any). I would strongly recommend that you have a little foreknowledge of web programming, because this book gets straight to the point and doesn't spend a lot of time teaching beginner stuff.

Good reference
Bought it in hopes of having jsut a simple reference book for CSS, and I was excited with the title being for CSS3. Well it's ONLY css3, it assumes you already have knowledge of previous versions so it only talks about what's new. Which is fine really all the information is available out there on the web, but this is a handy dandy little guide I find myself popping open if I wanna learn something new instead of turning to Google immediately.

Love This Book
I've been a web designer and coder for the past 10 years. With all this talk about CSS3, I wanted to learn more about the specifics of it, how it was different from former versions and lots of examples of new things I can do with CSS.I especially appreciate how it tells you which browser versions that each CSS feature works in.It's an excellent book for any web coder who already uses CSS and wants to stay up-to-date with the latest coding language.

This book is great!
The throughout of this book is amazing, chapter by chapter explains you how to understand every topic of css3, if you maybe sometime has used some css3 snippets that you don't really know what does ? this book could explain you, is a really well written book , to me a five stars book!

Dry as a Dog Biscuit
The author of this book seemed to go out of his way to make the information presented more complicated than necessary. I get that it's supposed to be a textbook, not a blog post, but still. We've grown used to reading "real language" on the web and seeing difficult subjects explained in a conversational way. Of course, that's when the object is to *help* the reader understand the topic. The object of this book seems to be to elevate CSS to an engineering level and to obfuscate rather than clarify. It takes CSS, a relatively easy language to learn, and turns it into, well, MATH. If you don't already have a *very good* understanding of the CSS topics covered in this book, you certainly won't get it here.

Very helpful although outdated at this point
great book for intro to css3. Laid out quite nicely for a book. Wish it came with digital examples though. This version is a bit old and many of the syntax in here have either been accepted or are more common than the book would have you believe. Overall I found it usefull (Had this for a class)

Not for the novice coder
I'm a bit of a novice hobby coder. This book was for more experiened coders who already know a bit of the earlier versions of CSS. Away from that the book seems to cover a lot of cool CSS3 stuff, and I'm saving it for later.

Great for developers, just as it claims.
As a developer, I want to understand the full capabilities of the new CSS features and how to drive them. I need to make applications do what I want in an efficient manner. This book meets my need. Other CSS books I have read and those I own, focus more on how to create snazzy graphics, using a sub-set of those features and so those books make me work hard to get the understanding I need.

Very well written, and an essential book for those who want to learn CSS3.
Peter Gasston knows his stuff. This book has not been rushed out. The author has been writing about CSS3 since it's inception in the '.NET' magazine. The authors knowledge and attention to detail shows throughout this book.If there's on book you should buy on CSS3, this is it.I even doubt future books, by other authors, would teach you more.

Buy other better css books
Hi All:I am truly disappoint with the book. The book has a website but there is no link to download the code for the book. In addition, I send an email to the author to ask him if he could send me the code but no reply. I am trying to learn css and I brought several books from amazon and they all hav web sites to download the code for the book. I am really shock of the good reviews for this book because after I received the book from www.amazon.com I find it unreadable. The book doesnot show full examples but show pieces of code which is useless if you want to try out the full example in a browser. I recommend people buy other books such as "Visual Quickstart Guide Css3" or "Css Mastery Advanced Web Standards Solutions.
