Perfect for our 11-year-old son joining us in hiking and biking
While my wife and I use 3L hydration backpacks, they are a little too heavy for our young son who we also need to hydrate when we camp, hike and bike. This pack fits easily into our Motorhome Storage and readily filled with potable water for use.Construction is excellent, and there are no difficulties in its use. Well thought-out, and again...perfect for our son. It's an easy five stars for us and a hearty recommendation. The price is also very reasonable for the value provided.*If you found my review helpful to you, please let Amazon know by clicking the "HELPFUL" button below!

Not for women or runners
I'm sure this is a great hydration pack for men who want it for hiking or cycling, but for women and all runners, this is a no-go. The chest strap placement is poor - I am 5'5" 130 lbs.... The chest strap goes literally right across the boobs. If you pull the pack down in the back you can get the chest strap to be just barely above the center of the boobs, but it's still uncomfortable and would probably ride back down in a second. And as far as jogging, the shoulder straps are just like a backpack, so unless you use and greatly tighten the chest strap (which women won't be able to do), the shoulder straps rest right at the underarm and rub nonstop. I returned mine asap.

Used this for my first Spartan race and worked very well.
I did my first Spartan Race (a Super, 8 miles) last month with this pack, and it worked great. Had to refill several times during the race and was very easy to open and close. Just watch that the drinking tube doesn't start to unscrew. Mine leaked because of this, but it was a quick fix after discovering the problem.

The shell part is great, but the bladder didn't last long
I bought this for when I go on runs. It's used in a 'light' sense. It's not thrown in with a bunch of gear or squished in a larger backpack. I took good care of it. The shell/backpack part is fine. Some stitches coming out, but that's to be expected a this price point. The bladder though, started leaking only a few month after I started using it. It was leaking from the seam at the bottom, not a hole in it. For a while, I was just putting a grocery bag around it so it would contain the leak, but the leak quickly grew to the point that the bladder would basically be empty during the run. I recently bought a new bladder for it, so hopefully the new one is better constructed. Maybe I just got a bad one. It happens.

More for a child or a skinny person
My husband has started participating in Sprint Triathlons. We thought this would be helpful. He tried it out this morning on a run. The chest strap is very high. The buckles cut into his sides. The slide lock on the hydration pack came loose and flooded the carrier. No easy way to clean the tubing. If you have a child going on a hike, maybe. But, this will not work for him.
