Buyer Beware
I'm not one that normally writes reviews. However, in this instance I felt compelled. I bought this several months ago and just got around to using this, and it failed miserably so I just had to say something. You only have a few options for gas cans that will work. I have several beautiful new cans and none of their adapters fit. They engineered (over-engineered frankly) this such that you can't use it just as a simple pump. I was hoping to pump out my generator - no can do - the cap is way to big. They designed this such that if it doesn't fit tightly to the source tank it will just pump gas out onto the ground.

Very limited application.
I guess it is my fault. I only looked at the large picture and not the the small side ones. The picture is a little misleading. To me it looked like the lntake hose is the the long one. I wanted to be able to transfer gas from pickup to gas can. Will not work for that. If I had to take gas from gas can to lawnmower I would use a funnel, a lot lot cheaper. If you could not lift it get a smaller gas can like 2 1/2 gallon. You do still have to lift it to get in and out of trunk, carry it to and from at home. If you can not lift a 2 1/2 gallon can you are probably having your lawn hired out anyway. Since I already have a funnel this is going back. Besides it is only a $16 item in my opinion.

Don't waste your money!
This pump is flimsy, cheaply made, and very weak in terms of pumping power. There is no justification for charging $59.99 for it; it couldn't have cost over $10 to make. I would definitely not buy it again. I bought it to transfer gasoline from 5-gallon cans into equipment and vehicles. Mine leaks and drips gas. There is no flow if I set the can on the ground next to the vehicle, so I must hold the can up near the height of the filler neck I am putting it into, which defeats the purpose of having a pump, which is to avoid having to hold the can up. If I wanted to do that, I would just use a spout. It comes with adapters for threaded can openings---why the designer thought it needed to be screwed to the can, I don't know---which are useless unless your can has compatible threads, which mine don't.

Gas Transfer Pump
I had initially purchased another version of this pump and returned it because the pump wouldn’t fit through the throat of the gas can; even though the vendor states that the pump works with all standard gas cans. Consequently, I returned the product.I later saw an upgraded version on Amazon and decided to give the product another try. When I tried to test the new version, I found that the same problem with the pump body. It did not fit into the throat of the gas can. I decided to shave down the raised molding inside of the gas can throat. This minor modification allowed the pump body to fit through the gas can throat. Once the pump body was inserted into the gas can, I used the adapter to fasted the other side of the pump to the gas can. I turned on the pump and it worked great. However, not all of the contents were able to be emptied. Minor problem.I especially like the new control panel for operating the pump. I also noticed according to the product description, that a auto shut off feature is included in the pump. I did not get to test this because I did not fill my gas tank in my vehicle at the time. I would recommend the product at this point. It is worth the price and looks like it is a quality product.

Fuel Transfer Pump
I liked the concept, I bought one and I pumped maybe five or six 5-gallon cans of gas (not all at once) then the automatic on button quit working I requested and was authorized an exchange. I got the second one and packaged the first up to return and sent back. The second one started having suction issues after about four or five gas cans so now I have to hold the 5-gallon gas can above the gas inlet about 4 feet off the ground for it to work. I also got a message today saying they could not refund me so they charged be for a second defective unit; not happy...
