Convenient powdered Tikka Masala spice mix.
I don’t know if I am using this tikka masala mix correctly, but I find it pleasing to cook with. My grandmother had dozens of whole spices in bulk, and would mix up ground curry powder to her taste as she cooked. I do not have the talent, the time, or the cupboard space to cook like my grandmother! This Tikka masala powder mix gives a pleasant taste and color to a yogurt marinade for meat, and puts satisfying food on the table.BTW, I have heard that tikka masala did not originate on the Indian subcontinent. It is an invention of Indian restaurants in North America. Much as a particular type of cold sesame noodle originated in NYC in the 1980’s, and seems to have died out (alas). But Tikka masala is still going strong in various forms, throughout North America, and beyond. There seem to be a lot of different Tikka Masala recipes. Some use garam masala and a number of different spices, especially turmeric, in the yogurt marinade for the meat. This mix appears to have the turmeric included. It will turn your yogurt and meat yellow, which is a characteristic of this dish. Mix some of this powder with yogurt and marinate some chunks of chicken for an hour to 24 hours in it, space the chunks out on a pan and broil; you have something tasty. I have eaten something like this as an appetizer in restaurants. The fancier recipes have you make a separate sauce with slightly different spices (no turmeric), tomatoes or tomato purée, minced garlic, onion, lemon, and extra fresh yogurt when it is done — and use a blender to make it smooth and creamy.I am not a gourmet cook. I have put chopped onions, minced garlic, puréed tomatoes, salt, maybe a dash of lemon juice and the marinated meat directly into an instapot. It is not classic, but it is flavorful food on the table with minimal fuss (and if you don’t thicken it with yogurt at the end, the last few servings make a good soup — instapot conserves fluid).I have guests who are afraid of “spicy food” and this Tikka masala powder, used in a yogurt marinade is flavorful for them. Some people will want additional hot red pepper for flavor. With the yogurt in this dish, it is not conducive to fiery hot meals. Those who like their food fiery must put some chilies or hot sauce on their plate.I like the powder as-is, and people can adapt it to their preferences individually.

Tastes terrible and may not be labeled right
Tastes like old lipstick; I wish I could describe it any other way. I was also miffed that the label was identical to the Tandoori Masala, even the recipe which didn’t call for seasoning that’s in the bottle!!! I used it as a marinade for my chicken, just how it instructs, and it tasted terrible. Not the tikka flavor I know and love at all.

Very tasty.
It was my first time tasting it, and I found it to be very flavorful without too much heat. That said I wish it had been sent in a box instead of a paper envelope. It was pretty smashed up, and some of the product was on the outside of the container. There were cracks in the plastic where the bottom of the label ends. Three of the bottom corners were smashed. I will have to repackage it as a result of the damage.

So easy! So tasty!
Some yogurt, lemon juice, some salt, some bamboo skewers, and there is chicken tikka right off your backyard grill. Rich smooth flavor which can be spiked hotter to taste. We like the taste as is. Will work even a few minutes marinating but gets more tender with time. In the large jar, it's a bargain and we could eat this every week. Use boneless thighs for best flavor and moist taste.

Delicious.
I bought Rani brand: Tikka Masala, Garam masala, and Kashmiri chili powder. I followed the chicken tikka recipe video on this page and it tasted like restaurant chicken tikka masala. I substituted the yogurt with solid coconut cream and added two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and it tasted just like tangy yogurt. I was surprised how delicious it was. Considering, I made it at home. It was a really good recipe.

Tasteless Spice Blend
CHICKEN TIKKA is my favorite food of all time. I was desperate to make it at home to save me from spending so much money on getting it from my local Indian restaurant, but this spice blend and yogurt marinade was tasteless and a pure waste of a good chicken. There are no words for my disappointment. This is also the worst review I have ever written in my life.

Loved it!
Our family has recently begun eating keto and I am always looking for tasty low-carb dishes to make. I bought Rani tikka masala powder, Rani ginger and garlic paste, and Rani Kashmiri red chili powder. I already had the other spices on hand. I followed the steps in the video on the Amazon page and made chicken and beef tikka masala and added some vegetables into it. Because we are eating low carb, we didn't have any rice or na'an with it. It was super! The whole family loved it. We'll be using the Rani spices to have this often in the future.

Excellent tikka-masala spice mix
This is one of the best mixes for chicken tikka masala that I have purchased. Great flavor and it is a little spicy, so if you are looking for a mild tikka masala this might be too spicy. Spiciness is about medium in the final meal. Otherwise the balance of spices is great. I might add a tiny bit more cinnamon, but that is easily accomplished. It is better then what I can mix myself, so I will definitely buy again.

Me gusta
