The Knitted Leaf: Hand Knitting Stitch Designs and Stitch Dictionary For Leaf Lovers Paperback – September 15, 2011

This is an ok book. To be honest, had this been on the shelf in a store, and I was able to look through it, I probably wouldn't have bought it. The lovely pattern on the front is the reason I purchased this book, as I was hoping/expecting all of the content to be along the same lines as the cover. There are charts as well as written instructions. The charts are mostly good, my only issue is the row numbers aren't very clear. There are 9 Rib patterns, 6 Drop Stitch patterns, 15 Lace patterns, and 10 Rib patterns. And finally, there are some projects: a clutch, a scarf, a hot water bottle sleeve, and a pull over. Some of the patterns look nothing like leaves, such as Lace Pattern 14. It is a pretty lacy stitch, it just doesn't look like a leaf to me. Maybe someone else can see a leaf, but I can't. Cable Pattern 9 doesn't look like any kind of stitch at all, let alone a leaf. Leaf Rib 4 does not really look like any stitch either. Perhaps it is just the yarns the designer chose to use to show the stitches, and they will look better in different yarn. The pictures for Leaf Rib 1 and Leaf Rib 8 look like the same swatch, although the instructions are clearly different. A lot of the sample swatches look sloppy as well. I do like several of the drop stitch patterns, but over all, I wish I had saved my $27 for a different book.
