Custom-fit Soft Top Roof Protector Half Cover for Mazda Miata MX5 Mk1 Mk2 Mk2.5 (Black)

I had purchased the cover because I was getting water in my battery well in wet weather.The cover seems well made, and it indeed does the job of keeping the cabin protected and the trunk dry.Unfortunately, the cover also reacted with the (original) paint where in contact with my back deck (and, to a lesser degree, on my windshield frame), leaving prominent white "water marks" in the paint. I've tried removing with rubbing compound, but they're not coming out. I don't know whether the damage is just to the clear coat or goes through to the color coat below. I'll need to do something more aggressive, perhaps ultimately repainting the damaged area.The cover was on the car for ~6 weeks while I was away traveling. There was a little water (just condensation, I think) beneath the back section of the cover when I removed it; there was none along the top of the windshield frame. I suspect chemical reaction with the roof protector's plastic waterproof layer turned the clear coat opaque.Update 2020-09-22: I was never able to remove the white discoloration from my car's paint. The techniques for removing water discoloration (heat the area, use a desiccant on the paint) didn't work. I ended up having to have the discolored panels repainted. I believe the issue was chemical reaction with the plastic layer of the cover, and not a standing water issue. The net: Don't buy one (or else take the cover off as soon as the rain ends).

Very easy to put on, take off, and store away compared to a full size car cover. I’m impressed by the quality of the material. The main reason I decided on a half cover is that I wanted something mainly to prevent leaks in my roof. I’ve had full car covers before, from inexpensive to custom fit. They always end up with a rip of some sort and water would still seep through in some areas after a few months of use. This half cover is a great solution for me. I wash my car regularly so a full cover is not what I needed.So far after months of use, the half cover is holding up very well. Keep in mind that I only use it for rainy weather and I do not keep it on for days or weeks at a time, (unless it’s been raining for multiple days of course.)Since the cover is light and easy to put on or off, I am able to quickly put on the cover when it is raining.The cover does stay on well during windy weather. It has been partially blown off the roof but is still locked down by the trunk. It was a severe storm that day and was the only time it partially blew off. It held as well as it could, so much so that my passenger side mirror is loose. The cover locks around your side mirrors with Velcro straps and the edges of the cover have magnets to hold to your car. I’m very pleased with this cover, and happy to have found it on amazon!

I bought this to replace an old, worn, California Pop-Top cover I had been using that had shredded to tatters. I didn't honestly expect much, and when I saw it had shipped from Canada, I was a bit miffed because I expected it to be made in the US and shipped from within the US.HOWEVER, I will say that the company that makes this makes a VERY high quality product.It is somewhat heavy, but that's because it's made from very sturdy material. It installs easily, removes easily, and is very well made. The stitching is all well done, I found no loose seams, extra thread, danglers, etc. It stays on the car and doesn't flap about and most important, it protects especially in heavy downpours that can overwhelm the drains in the rear that are supposed to keep water from getting into the cabin.This is a great product for the Miata, an excellent alternative to the full cover if you don't have a garage or car port to park under.

Must be Easy to Take Off. Must be Easy Storage. Must Protect Soft Top from Elements. Must be Cool and Look Good. I used to talk with the guys about only needing a cover for the top. Someone made it! So happy. It's is so easy and FAST to get on. Magnets in the right places secure it to your car so even on windy days it's not flapping all over the place. It also comes with Velcro straps that secure around the side mirrors. The Best Part is that you can almost take it off faster than getting it on. You know how guys like being able to undress something fast. If that's you click buy. You just gotta. You won't regret it. You'll be very very proud. Note. When your grandpa says, "They don't make 'em like they used to," He didn't know about this car cover. This thing has stood up to days straight of downpours, gale force winds, feet of snow, and scorching hot sunny days. As you can see, it is somewhat faded but it is still ready to rock. My interior stays totally dry.One tip: Unless I know there is a very serious storm coming, I generally just secure it with the trunk piping, the side magnets, the mirror straps, and the front tucked under the wipers. The piping for the doors is a little difficult to tuck in and I was concerned about only getting it half way in and damaging my hinges.

Three star for "average" Not a horrible produce. Good material and folds up nicely. My issues is size - this is a "custom" fit top and it is quite frankly too small. I bought this for a 2007 Miata and while is covers the top, it does not cover the front and rear Wells so tons is leaves and dirt get caught in these areas. The magnets are also too few and too weak. The cover should be 6-10 inches longer and have a few more magnetic. I would have returned but I waited to long to try and fit.

This half cover is just what I needed! It's easy to put on and easy to take off. After having a new soft top installed on my 1995 Miata, I wanted to be sure it stayed looking like new (no garage). This does the job! Will update after winter to see how it holds up through the snow and ice...
