Q: The description of this product says it is made in Japan. Can anyone confirm where it is made?

It's definitely made in Japan. Sticker on it (and box it comes in) confirm. Also, they delivered it to me via USPS, and there was a customs sticker on it. It took over a week to come.

Q: Is the handle stable? Im worried that the teapot will "swing" based on the photo. I dont want to have to use 2 hands to pour.

It can swing down to one side for storage and to aid in cleaning (easier to get into without the handle in the way), but has a hard stop to prevent it from swinging to the other side. I've felt no "swing" when pouring at all.

Q: Does the whistle have a stainless steel base like other tea kettles?

The kettle and spout are both metal. They appear to be the same metal which is stated to be stainless steel. The whistle is not metal it is made of something else which is listed in the information given. I allow it to whistle then pull back the whistle and pour the hot water through the metal spout, avoiding the black whistle part. It’s hard to find a “non toxic” no leaching of heavy metals tea pot. The taste of the purified water I put in the kettle stays the same after sitting in the pot for hours. I am happy with my purchase.

Q: Are the handle and the whistle BPA-free?

I don't think it is BPA-free, but I think it is ok since when you pour the hot water out it will not touch any of the plastic parts. Be aware though when the water is boiled the plastic handle at the top will be very hot deal to the steam if you are using gas oven, you will need to hold it with a towel or something to protect your hand from that hot plastic handle.
