It is air tight to some extent I would say. The lid is 2 part system . There is a lock down latch on the middle. And the front part is click lock. It does not have watcher like air tight containers but has a lockdown lidVenu G. Singavarapu answered on October 18, 2013

Q: Moths keep getting into my dry goods. Will this keep moths out ?

I haven't had any problems with these containers and moths, but I also put a couple of bay leaves inside with my dry goods to keep this from happening. And you can still use the bay leaves, if need be, when cooking.

Q: what are the dimensions of this container? (height, width, depth?)

The height (depth) is 8 1/4"; width 8 1/2" and length 14 3/8". The container holds a 15 pound bag of rice and I also purchased one to hold sugar.

Q: Is this container BPA free? What plastic grade is used for this container ?
