BabyRice Adult Hand Casting Couples Casting Kit with Choice of Metallic Paints (Bronze)

Wow.....totally blown away with this kit.....amazing value and fun ......so pleased .....I was successful in producing 2 couple sets.....one was to be a gift for my sister (our parents holding hands) sadly my mum is on palliative care and I knew this would be a perfect lasting memory for her.....I was even more thrilled when my 2nd go was just as good........ A beautiful keepsake....we had fun .....the only negative was the instructions, I researched quite a bit and decided to go off general measurements on the net......so to make one adult double hand cast I used just over 5pints (about 5.3pints) of water to x2 bags of the Alginate........I used it straight out of the tap ...this cold temperature gave me more mixing time ....it does set quick so be 100% set up ready........both my casts have bubbles in them a bit but I put that down to inexperience with the materials....rushed the mixing a bit .....however once painted you can hardly see them .......as for the odd lump or air bubble these pick off easily.......I have to say fantastic product maximum WOW factor.....little tip .....buy a 5L bucket and a cheap 5L water bottle .....they are perfect for a double hand cast.........

Today is 7th December 2012 , i ordered my casting kit here on the *5th December* the kit arrived *7th December* via Amazon Prime super quick delivery up to the Wirral Peninsula , Cheshire .I saw this kit and did not hesitate . I had been thinking of casting for approx 3 years now and didnt get around to that. I am casting my hands for my mother who i know will be delighted with this really super sentiment she can keep forever , its a wonderful thing for a person to do or pass the kit as a gift , wedding, boyfriend, partner husband , gay , straight, lesbian relationships bondings ..lovely .I have personal interest in making up the casting as i am a lets just say would be artist /designer its something im going to enjoy doing and a relaxing , fun but little challenge for a day ..my dream activity .As i have already mentioned at the time of typeing i have not casted when i do i can add a pic of the finished hand cast/s for now im doing the contents and package .The casting kit arrived in perfect condtion , there was not one bish or bash to the box or heavy kit its a large kit , you certainly get your monies worth of ingedients in the box if you like including a three page detailed printed clear instructions inside box of all you need to know and do to perform your casting works . I have not read the sheet at time of my review but it seems all is there in the kit many bits and bobs and all wrapped and covered with bubble wrap ..its a super present to just open, a delight interesting, educational and one of those items that you will look forward to having a quiet day without children or animals running around to get on with the task in peace ..I plan to undertake my casting myself without help , my advice would be read your instructions *prior* to making up your casting . prelim make your arragements for setting up an area in your home to do this , make a clear space and have some bin bags and cleaning things and acess to your water and such and anything the kit advises you to have ready , go through that for a sucessful casting . Allow yourself time for cast to dry before painting and mounting if you plan to .I carnt wait to start on my casting , im hoping i can be in time to present my mum somthing i know she will adore i am so glad i ordered .Huge thank you for quick delivery ..this kit could be handed in its box without wrapping paper for a wedding gift as it arrived here wrapped in gorgeous thick silver ribbon tied in a big bow as you will see from the gallery ..not a light flimsy gift , feels something ..but its what it will become thats even more exciting ..TOP GIFT ...arty persons dream .x

Once we got over our initial concern that the mould would set to quickly (and a disasterous 1st attempt mainly because we were nervous and made it too dry) we realised that you need to ignore the instructions and just go for it. We found it best to empty a whole pack into a dry bucket but have a 2nd opened and ready in case the mixture was too wet. We then added 500ml of water and mixed quickly (also best to have more water on hand) We then added powder or water as necc to get the correct consistancy and height in the bucket. 1 pack, plus a bit, is enough to make a cast of 2 people holding hands and you get 4 in the box so managed to make 2 casts in the end. Shame the bucket is'nt supplied but picked up a cheap halloween bucket for 75p from our local "THE WORKS" and that was ideal. VERY impressed with the result. Only a basic black paint is supplied but again for £2 we picked up gold and silver paint from "THE WORKS" and got a great result

I bought this kit as a present and it did not disappoint. The level of detail in the final casting is amazing and the keepsake for the family for ever is just gorgeous. There was a little issue however with the instructions, a 500g bag of alginate to 1 litre of tap temperature water made a good mix not the 1:1 ratio that was stated in the instructions other than that I am extremely happy with the product.

Brilliant product. It is a lovely gift idea which will last for generations. Quite easy to use if you follow the instructions. It was a great fun to use the kit.I would highly recommend it.

This is a present for Christmas came in a box with a bow on was lovely on 3 stars as not been opened and used yet

Bought as a couples gift. Did need to find a bucket big enough but was super easy to work out and use. Did have to wait a while on it setting (which was no hassle) and the end product was amazing. No cracks, no issues, looks extremely realistic.

Wow I am amazed by the outcome!! The detail is amazing!1st attempt failed miserably and unfortunately lost out on 2 bags of the powder because the solution hardened too quickly although we followed instructions, so luckily we had enough to start over. Stressful hour but amazing outcome! It's a shame I lost out on the first attempt as I could have made a second cast another time. Very happy though thank you
