900 Gram Silica Gel for 66 Cubic Feet
This product works exactly as advertised! We put two in our back sunroom in North Carolina, which has mold problems if enclosed for an extended period with our plants, and we have not had a problem since. Easy to place packages, which are durable and reusable, make this a highly efficient product that keeps the mold away and sucks up moisture as advertised. Very cost effective as you simply put the product inside the package in the oven to heat, dry it out and reuse it again and again. I predict we'll save hundreds of dollars over time versus buying the Damp rid packages we used to, which were simply thrown away. This is a smart product that pays for itself and is environmentally sound. Highly recommend it!

Window defogging champion
I'm going to start by saying that a car that gets daily use in Iowa during the snowy winter months is a hard test of this product. I think it works well, but I have not tried other products for the same task.I purchased this to combat the fogging up of my car several months ago. Comparing it to having nothing in the car, I'd say it works pretty well. Considering that I tend to steam up any vehicle in short order--to the point that I've had several complaints from family, friends, and taxi drivers--that my car no longer requires an internal squeegee pass is nothing short of miraculous. That the pack is "rechargeable" was a major selling point. Whilst disposable packs are simpler and cheaper (at first...), I am happy with sticking this in the oven once every 4-6 weeks. I have had to dry out the pack in the oven once in recent memory and now it's up for renewal. considering how much snow I track into the car, once a month seems reasonable. Leaving it to bake for 3 hours presents a small scheduling problem as I tend to forget things in less than half of that time. However, setting my phone alarm does the trick. All in all, I'm happy with it.I wanted to post a photo of this, but a photo of a clear windscreen wouldn't be helpful. I just leave this in the back seat and check it at random intervals to determine whether it's still doing its job--I haven't had foggy windscreens to remind me yet.

So far so good
Seems good so far, but I've got to say its running down as fast as my "Browning Dry Zone-500gram" one does. But it never got past the first circle of turning pink so maybe not.?.? This had about 130 grams of moisture in it and only one circle was pink. A browning dry zone would have all circles Pink if it had 130 grams of moisture in it, so as I'm typing, I'm realizing its actually a better product than I thought being it holds double the moisture. It seems these desiccants suck up moisture fast at first but then slow down being the fresh beads are in the middle of it and take longer so expect that first circle to turn pink pretty fast, If you want the best protection, after 2 circles are pink, just put it in the oven for 3-5 hours (for best results) on aluminum foil on 240 degrees and turn it over ever 45 mins and let out the moisture for about 10 seconds when doing so. I found that recharging in a glass bowl doubles my time but Id hate to find out that the glass gets so hot that it bursts the beads so I try to stick with aluminum foil being it doesn't get very hot under the bag.It does take longer to recharge being theres so much, Had it in over for 2 hours and it only lost like 30 grams of moisture, BUT, I also had another desiccant in there and I've noticed when you do 2 at the time, I think the moisture leaving one bag may absorb into the other if you're not careful and forget to oven the oven door every 30 mins for a few seconds. Best to recharge one at the time.If you have any kind of scale to weigh them on (I bought one for it), keep note of the original weight before you put it in the oven, and when you open to flip it over, put it on the scale real fast and see how many grams it is. When their warm it normally doesnt hurt for them to be in the open air for 30 seconds. When it gets back down to 900grams or close enough, just turn the oven off and let it cool down. once cool, put immediately back in the box and put in the area you want it.If the area is far away, put it in a freezer bag, just make sure its not still hot or itll create condensation and the moisture will go back into the dessicant...I did it lastnite and took the freezer bag in the cold air and it has condensation all over the inside. Learned my lesson. You should buy 2, double protection leads to one not filling up fast.

Removes a lot of moisture at minimal cost
I use a few types of dehumidifiers and silica gel desiccants around the home to prevent mold growth in closets and around windows during the humid winters in my region. I particularly like this one because of its high effectiveness to cost ratio and ease of use. Just put one wherever you need one and check on it every week or two. When the middle of 3 dots on the color changing indicator card turns pink, recharge (bake 3 hours at 240°F) according to the manufacturer's instructions. If it needs recharging more than once a week, add another box in the same location.I suspected that the indicator card changes color while there's still significant capacity, so, to avoid wasting energy (and to justify buying an electronic scale!), I weigh the bag. The 900 gram package readily adsorbs over 200 grams of water, closer to 300 grams when the air is cold and damp, so I'll consider recharging above 150 to 180 grams of adsorbed water. The one negative for me is that the fabric bag develops a light toasty "tan" after a few trips to the oven. This makes me nervous about the bag getting brittle and tearing. Next time, I'll consider getting a perforated metal can or experimenting with alternate recharge methods.

Good for small spaces
We got one of these blocks to have down in our basement. We got it because our basement has some humidity problems, and we have some items that are sensitive to moisture down there in a cabinet. We put this into the cabinet with a humidity monitor just to see how things were going and to make sure this was doing the job. This block actually worked really well. We saw the humidity level in the cabinet immediately start dropping. After a few days it was down to a good level, which was awesome. So, needless to say, this works really well if you need to get control of some humidity. I don't know how this would work in a larger space, but it definitely works well in our little storage area (we tried it just in the area as well which is about 5 by 10). This is a good buy and seems to work well.
