I put some red lock tight on it straight out of the box as recommended then added about 30-40 feet of paracord. Took it out to the beach and found some change. This keeps the kids occupy for hours. Great investment and strong magnet. You tubers seem to use the larger 1200 pound magnet presumably for the larger surface area. This magnet strength is a lot. Be careful as it can get snagged on rocks. Lots of fun and worth the purchase.

Unbelievable power!
When I first received this magnet I decided I would test it. I saw my hammer on my workbench so I held it on the hammer to see if it would lift it. After the magnet came into contact with the hammer it clamped on very strongly. When I tried to remove it from the hammer it was very difficult for me to do! I had to really work at it to get it to release the magnetic hold!

well its stuck and I cant get it off
Stuck it to an anvil and had to grab a pipe to get it off definitely couldn't get it off with bare hands

Second Time out, it shattered !!
Thought I would try a hand at magnet fishing now that i'm retired.This was my second time out as for the first one, there was still a lot of ice on waterways.Can't imagine cold water would do it, but after throwing it in and bringing it back up, it shattered in place.Not impressed.
