Sturdy camping chair - small but solid
This chair is small - but that's the point! There are many 'fuller' sized camping chairs out there, but none will fold down to the size of this one. Perfect to take away on my motorcycle camping trips. It may look 'childish' and small as stated on many reviews but I am 6'1" carrying 18 stone and I fit in it - It's snug but feel very supported in it. It is short and only about 12" off the ground but it easy to get in and out, I found reaching under the seat and pushing against one of the vertical poles helps in getting out (BTW I'm no spring chicken!).I tried other chairs at the same time including one that was taller and wider, but they did not fold away into such a compact size as this one. This is heavier that the others I tested coming in at nearly 1.8kg but I will be carrying it on my motorcycle and the smaller packed up size was more important to me than the 0.5kg extra weight over the other ones. It will easily fit into a pannier or even the bottom of a rucksack. The extra weight is due to it having steel poles rather than the aluminium ones of the other brands I tested. I felt the steel poles were sturdier and would stand a better chance of holding my weight. At no stage did I think I was going to tip over or that the poles were going to bend. The winner for me was the wide clip on feet, tried them on sodden grass and hardly sank at all. Even without the clip ons, the larger balls on the feet faired better than the slimmer profile ones some other chairs had. The Oxford type material is very thick with good stitching and looks like it will last. It is a right B****** to get on the first few times but the material does give a little after a while and does get easier. Even the carry case it came with was made of tougher material than the others I tested, don't think it will fray of tear any time soon.Let's be clear, this is not some comfy reclining garden/camping chair to snooze in, it a very transportable basic chair that will pack away into a very small space, it will hold you while you you cook on your camping stove (coincidently perfect height for those folding camping tables that also sit about 12" high), it will hold you while you watch the world go by, sip your drink and read your book. If that is what you are after, this fits the bill.Selling points for me:Small and compactFeels solid with the steel polesHuge (clip on) feet to avoid sinking into the ground

Fits all shapes and sizes
Only used once so far but very impressed by their weight, ease to put together and strength. I bought one for each member of the family, all shapes and sizes, and they adapted to each of us. I am an an 18ish stone man of average height and it was comfortable with no sense of weakness.

Excellent camping chair
This is my second purchase as i've just bought one for my wife for a bike festival this week. I've used mine at Silverstone and at the bike festival last year and it's brilliant. folds very small so fits in my roll bag for my bike.I'm 6'2 and 16 stone and it takes my size with ease. It's very comfortable to sit in and importantly it's easy to get out of. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone needing a compact but comfortable camping chair.

Great compact chair
Cheaper than most compact chairs, it weighed a bit more but that’s because it has sturdy steel poles. Quick to assemble and packs down small. Both me and my buddy bought one for motorbike camping and they were perfect. Yes they’re a little low but they’re a compact chair so that absolutely to be expected but I’m 6’1 and 85kg and it was perfectly fine to sit and read a book in by Loch Ness for a few hours

4.5 overall
This is my review of the SUNMER Portable Camping Chair - Compact Ultralight Folding Backpack Chair,.It took 20 seconds to erect it, (elastic cords just like tent poles pulling it into place almost on it's own) another 15-20 seconds to get the seat cover fitted. Tip, put the two long backs in, one of the bottom, then unclip the remining side, slide it in and then put the piece back into it's place.I took the chair as I really struggle getting up of off the ground now, old arthritic joints. As I hike up to 10-12 miles each day I want to relax in the evening.Comfortable enough, I was sat in it for around 90-120 mins relaxing with a book, then eating my food. I didn't add the spreader feet and it didn't sink into the damp ground. It is low, about 12 inches of off the floor. I weigh in around 88 kilos and it took my weight without complaint. The ground wasn't very level, about a 5-8 degree slope but I had no problems.Packing it up later took a bit longer than setting up, getting the limbs back in packaway mode took a bit longer. There is a Velcro strap attached to hold them closed. Wrap the cover around and slip it into the carry bag. Job done. And it weighs in at 1.75kg (1745 gm) so the 2nd heaviest non food item in my pack (no tent) . It isn't the smallest though, 13x5x4.5 inches, though you could squish it down to 13x4x4, so if volume and weight are important in your pack you might need to think on it.Personally, I am happy with it

Too low.
Easy to assemble and strong enough; but so low.

Small to carry
Gets easier the more you build it. Abit heavy to carry and not the comfiest

Game changer for us
We really love these chairs. We’re in a tent, camping, and walk to be beach with our gear. We used to have those big camping chairs that squash down and are cumbersome. These are so small and easy to carry in their bags. We’ve bought three. It takes a couple of times to work out how to make them up then it’s all good. The feet are great and don’t sink into sand. They are comfy and low. I bought one first to try out and then the other two, very happy with them.
