Adhesive Under Door Sweep Weather Stripping Soundproof Rubber Bottom Seal Strip Draft Stopper Draught Excluder (Black 2M, 2 Meter)

I've had this on the bottom of my front door for nearly a year now. The gap on the door is very uneven as it's an old house, so the depth of this is perfect. Even with some parts of it being very tight to the floor to allow for the bigger door gap in other sections, and the friction of a door mat inside, the adhesive has held up incredibly well. Being solid rubber not brush makes it much more effective keeping the draught out too. I needed to do another door so just bought some more, so was reminded how good it is!

During a recent downpour in August, due to a couple of slightly blocked drains water came flooding into the house because there was a gap of about a quarter inch under the kitchen door, leaving parts of the kitchen under up to half an inch of water. I therefore bought this strip to reduce the effect should it ever happen again. Fortunately I was able to see what was happening straight away, cleared the drains and so reduced the flooding effect. Using a wet and dry vac, I must have emptied the cylinder some ten times before being able to mop up the remainder. However I felt I should do something to prevent so much water entering the house.I'm not expecting this strip to stop a re-occurrence of the flooding completely, but am hoping that it will reduce the ingress of water in the event that we do get a similar situation. The strip was simple to install, just cut to size with a junior hacksaw, remove the cover on the adhesive strip, and press into place. It doesn't really show since the door is painted white and the strip is white plastic, but it looks like it will be effective.I've only dropped a star because I cannot be certain of its effectiveness and feel that to give it 5 stars would be misleading under those circumstances. If it does happen again I'll edit this review with the results.

So far the guard is hanging very well, and its serving its purpose by keeping the mice out! Before i go onto actualy mice proofing the kitchen! So far so good

Adhesive strip not strong enough

Works extremely well on my front door that has a 6mm gap at the bottom. Very easy to fit. Instantly stops the draft. Good quality material. Not sure how it would work if it had to rub against a floor edge or carpet, thought that's not my issue.

We had an issue with the cats bringing mice into the utility room through the cat flap and them escaping under the door to the kitchen. This has stopped that now.

Would have liked it to be a more sturdier fit than stick on, but has held on so far so no complaints
