Heavy duty sharpener.
I was a bit surprised when I received this. It was bigger than I thought it was going to be. The listing does tell the size. Maybe I should have read that part. :-) And it was heavy. The suction cups on the bottom work very well. Suction cups combined with weight enables me to sharpen without having to hold the unit in place. It works very easily without having to apply any force to my pencils to get a good point. The sharpener seems to do a great job. I had a long sharp point very quickly. It didn't seem to remove an excessive amount of wood. So, hopefully, a large amount of my colored pencils won't end up in the shavings tray. The cutter is removable. So, if it gets jammed, I can remove it for cleaning. This unit is supposed to be good for colored pencils. But if you sharpen a graphite pencil periodically, it will clean the wax from your blades. It is a bit pricey. But the cutter is replaceable. That's the reason I chose this sharpener. The cutter is available on Amazon for 9.39. So maybe this is the only sharpener that I will have to buy.I read in one of the questions on the listing that these sharpeners were recalled. I looked it up and that was several years ago. Surely that problem has been resolved by now. If I get shocked or have any other problems, I will update my review. As of now, it is working just peachy and I am pleased.

Sharpens colored pencils to a long sharp point while grinding off a minimal amount of pencil
PROS: 1. Sharpens colored pencils to a really good, long point. 2. Sharpens a very minimal amount of the colored pencil off to get the point. Impressive compared to my manual Xacto sharpener that chews considerably more pencil up before it gets the same good point. 3. Sharpens a graphite or watercolor pencil fairly quickly.CONS: 1. Slow sharpening on new wax based colored pencils. Takes quite some time to sharpen a new PrismaColor Premiere pencil. My Xacto Manual was faster but ground off a lot more pencil. 2. Sharpened 10 new PrismaColor Premiere pencils one right after the other without a break before the heat safety switch shut it off. Once it cooled off it was fine and continued to work. This is a good sharpener. Works fine for colored pencils, watercolor pencils, graphite and charcoal pencils. I wouldn't recommend using it for sharpening the points of a new 150 count box of PrismaColor Premiere pencils - too slow and you may have to wait if it overheats after doing a lot of pencils in a short time.Seemed a little faster on the oil based Polychromos pencils and was much faster on the Albrecht Durer Watercolor pencils. However, it should work fine for re-sharpening a few pencils as you use them.

Greatest Pencil Sharpener Ever
Worked great. My wife sharpened all her art work collared pencils. Every point turned out perfect.

SOOOO FABULOUS!
I just received this sharpener in the mail. I am a classroom teacher and thought that I would give this a try because (even after some good/bad/so-so reviews) I thought this has to be a good sharpener...it's made for the classroom--it's says so on the box! HAHAHA! Needless to say, I didn't wait until tomorrow to bring it in to school. I HAD to try it as soon as I opened the box, so I got out my stash of pencils (ALL different brands and all different sizes) and guess what? I was able to sharpen them ALL. And guess what else? EACH ONE WAS PERFECT! I mean "IT HAD A PERFECT POINT AND THERE WAS NOOOOOOO WOOD SHOWING AROUND THE TIP!!" ON EVERY PENCIL! WHAT? YES!!! I cannot believe that I have finally found a pencil sharpener that works well AND has replaceable blades to boot! This is a keeper. For those who read the bad reviews and decide not to purchase...you are missing out. Also, I watched the video review and was skeptical too, but I have to say that sometimes the pencil quality really matters. I'm not sure what kind of pencils those are in the video, but if they are from the dollar store then let's think about the quality of the pencil too. I sharpened lots of different brands (Target, Dixon, Ticonderoga, Publix, the write dudes, PaperMate Warrior, the ones from starfall.com, advertisement pencils, etc.), but none were from the dollar store. Anyway, this is a keeper and definitely worth the money because IT WORKS!! I hope you read this and decide to give it a try. Let the sharpening continue! :)

Sharpens really quick
Pros: Sharpens fresh pencils in less than 4 seconds. Sharpener lights up when sharpening is complete.Cons: pencil sharpener bin does not hold all the pencil shavings causing it to spill out.

a Bostitch Super Pro 6 Commercial Electric Pencil Sharpener
There is to my knowledge no such thing as a sharpener that will withstand constant use in a classroom, 1st grade, for a long period of time. Over 40 pencils are used every 3 to 4 weeks plus re-sharpening daily. I purchased, a Bostitch Super Pro 6 Commercial Electric Pencil Sharpener, prior to this new one that cost $171.19. It was purchased at a local office supply company. Purchased on 12/15/11 and started using 1/2013 until the end of the school year 6/13/13. By then it was unable to sharpen any pencils and became very noisy. Even when new it was to noisy to use during class. I returned it to the office supply co. on 6/20/13 and with their help, contacted Bostitch and faxed them a warranty claim form. On 6/28/13 they sent me a replacement that I received on 7/1/13. Bostitch gets a outstanding A+ for their customer service department. This new sharpener cost $54.99 plus the replacement cutter $9.99 received 2/3/15 and started using it on 3/4. Only 40 pencils have been sharpen to date plus the re-sharpening that takes place daily. The glow feature is great if it continues to work and it stops automatically when done sharpening. I like the fact that I can sharpen 40 or more at a time or do my re-sharpening while the children are at lunch. Still don't let the children use it nor as a volunteer do I use it during class. I would revaluate it at the end of the school year in June. If it continues to do well until then so I don't need to replace the cutter I'll be satisfied. Its speed is great but as with other sharpeners it's new and will see how it's doing by the end of the school year.

Every teacher’s dream sharpener
This sharpener is very durable and easy to use. I have been though several other brands but this has been the best fit. I am also excited that there are replacement parts available.
