Mini 0807 from Adashine as an upgrade to a mini 0806
I purchased this to replace a mini 0806 with GPS mount. While I like the mini 0806 and it has worked well for the most part, it seems the North Carolina summer heat and sun will inevitably destroy the battery used in the mini 0806. I'm on my second unit now because of that. Since this 0807 uses a capacitor instead of a battery it should be much more resistant to summer sun, heat and humidity. While my car is garaged at home, it sits in the sun all day at work. The actual specifications of the mini 0807 and 0806 are quite similar, just different components in the 0807, so I did not sacrificing anything significant with this change.I ordered my mini 0807 on 09/06 and it arrived 10/06, 13 days earlier than the delivery estimate, so not bad at all for postal mail shipping from China. The OEM packaging was very good, and the seller had encased that box in bubble wrap and put the whole thing in another box wrapped with water proof tape. Excellent packing for a long shipping trip and everything arrived in pristine condition.Out of the box the 0807 powered up fine when just plugged in to an external USB power adapter, and everything seemed to work correctly. The menu is navigated by a jog wheel on the rounded end of the dash cam, but the menu system is quite familiar to any mini dash cam owner and is fairly intuitive to set up. I set the data and time, and as long as the time zone is set correctly (adjusting for daylight savings as necessary), the unit will correct the time automatically once it finally gets data input from the GPS unit. It also came with an 8GB card in it, which was nice as I don't remember that even being mentioned in the original item description. After initial testing and menu setup, I removed the mini 0806 GPS mount on my car's windshield, cleaned the glass and mounted the 0807 GPS mount. I had two Samsung Class 10 64GB cards in the mini 0806 which I removed, reformatted and put into the mini 0807. I know the seller recommends using class 6 cards with this unit, but I don't have any, and the Samsung 64GB cards seem to be fine with the unit, so I will keep using them unless there is an issue.A short 30 minute test drive (5 minute loop recording, cards set to AUTO) indicates everything is working fine. The mini 0807 GPS mount has a red LED indicator light, but it seems to merely be a power indicator (it came on as a steady red and the GPS unit seems to be doing exactly what it is supposed to, so this must be normal even though the GPS mount indicator LED is not specifically mentioned in the manual)? The GPS indicator on the screen did show that the video was seeing the GPS signal input though, and the video was properly stamped with corrected time, date, location and speed when I reviewed it. It also seems this mount obtained a GPS fix much faster than the one for my mini 0806 (which typically takes 5-8 minutes to get a location fix - my one true gripe with the mini 0806, very slow GPS lock). It is a bit disappointing not to have the external LED indicators of the mini 0806 (three - blue for power, flashing red for record, and green for steady GPS signal) and with the mini 0807 I need to activate the screen to see all of those related status indicators. The external indicator on the mini 0807 shows the unit is on, and recording, but only by viewing the LCD screen is the GPS status confirmed. The jog wheel controller on the mini 0807 is superior, IMO, to the buttons on the mini 0806, so it is simple to wake the screen and confirm the GPS signal indicator is green.I use EarthShine Software's DashCam viewer on a MacBook Pro Retina laptop and the video from the short drive test run was very good. Not noticeably better than my mini 0806 video quality, but certainly as good. The 7 files i generated today seemed to transition smoothly between 5 minute segments. Today is overcast, but the images were sharp and color balance good. I could read license plates and street signs and such with no problem in the images. I won't be able to test bright sun image quality for several days it looks like, until Hurricane Mathew gets out of the way.Overall, I am very pleased with the mini 0807. I feel I've lost nothing by replacing my mini 0806 with this 0807 and without a battery to suffer in the heat, it should prove a more long term reliable unit. I really like the small footprint of the mini series dash cams, and the soft rubber outer coating on the mini 0807 is also nice when handling such a small unit out of the windshield mount.

Like the 0805
Image quality is about the same as my old 0805. I noticed there'll be a whine when you start it as it charges the capacitor. Turned off the g-sensor because I didn't trust it. Despite firmware updates, it loves to jump between the two memory cards but has yet to 'miss' a single video. Like the 0805, it occasionally loses GPS signal. Great cost-effective discrete camera, easily hidden behind the rearview mirror.I'm not a fan of the stupid noise it makes on startup so I had opened it up and removed the speaker. I'd rather void the warranty than hear a chime on every start.

Not a reliable device
Ordered in January 2018. Worked well for a while, but needed to be replaced in March 2018 as it only displayed the blue led and would not function beyond that.Merchant replaced, but after a few weeks the new unit started needing to be restarted more and more often, eventually at least once every day. Then unit displayed only a blue led power light, and would not work at all.Multiple notes to vendor but no response. Unit is dead.Replaced with Viofo 129 - so far very happy, but I'm out $120 for the Mini0807

I like it. Way better than last version
I like it. Way better than last version. More holes on it so it doesn't overheat. No battery for back up so it is wired in, if u need to detach to show video for proof to someone then it had to be plugged in. Last model had battery but lasted less 6 months, so useless and now beeps and annoying because it doesn't hold charge. This 0807 is a little rounder and Bulkier but still small compared to others.Installed it and realized on/ off button doesn’t work. Emailed seller and no response. I bought it for $112 and now I feel ripped off.

Great improvements over prior models!
Great dashcam. I had an earlier model that started failing after a year. This has more features than the old one. The GPS isn't important to me but it's nice to know it's there. The parking mode is great, and the obdII connection for power is perfect since my power outlets are on all the time. The 2 microns card slots with 2 128GB cards gives me plenty of storage without worrying about overwriting anything I might want to save.

As Advertised
I had my dash cam professionally installed. It records every time the ignition is on and appears to be great quality. No problems. I would recommend this product. Great for the price...

Better than the 0801 and 0826s!
The media could not be loaded. Works Great although some of the Beeps and Tones can get annoying but new firmware should fix that up (On mine, if you have parking guard enabled it acts as though you have motion sensing on which can get a little perturbing at long lights!) I've attached a short video at night showing me hitting some object on the highway! Not that my integrity gets questioned, it is still nice to have something to show the insurance company just in case!It includes a software package that lets you show a map with your trip highlighted, and will automatically put that on your SD Cards when you insert them, but I prefer the old RegistratorViewer. This DVR does not care what you use to play back the videos. It keeps the Videos in MP4 format and the GPS file can be converted may ways. But I digress, no battery to go bad, and a working parking guard make this a great find and when they upgrade the firmware it will be even better!
