SUCCESS! Finally Stuck to Lightweight Blackout Fabric
Update 07/18/19> Success! Using tape on ALL sides was successful. Rating goes from 1 star to 5! In AZ we like to keep the heat out and that was my goal in our utility room which faces west.Update 07/17/19> I thought tape at top and bottom of window would hold up 7oz of material, but maybe not. I've now put tape down the sides and will see how that works. 🤞Original post >The 7 1/4 oz (NOT pounds) 26" x 40" blackout material did not stay stuck to the 2" sz pcs of tape I put at ea of the window's corners. It fell off within hrs. "Must not have been enough tape," I say to myself. So up goes 26" of tape at the top and bottom of the door window. Overnight it fell off again. The tape is still stuck on the door but after all I read about the adhesive qualities of this tape, it doesn't stay stuck on a small pc of lightweight blackout fabric?!? I'm SO disappointed! What I did:I didn't have trouble cutting it. I used a box cutter and sliced through the non- sticky side and it worked like a charm. Washed & dried the painted door around the window per instructions, stuck the tape on, gave it a good rubdown, peeled off the backing, and peeled back 1 corner to make sure I'd be able to remove it in the future. So far so good! Applied the fabric, gave it another good rubdown, and left. Perfect tape for this job (or so I thought!). Next morning, the fabric is puddled on the floor. Tried to adhere it again since tape was still tacky and the same thing happened. <sigh>

Good adhesion but removability is questionable
I mainly use this tape to adhere an insole pad to the top of my prescription orthotics. This tape is doing the job well, with no movement of the insole across the orthotic. I did attempt to remove one of the insoles in order to reseat it better but the tape really stuck tight and tore the insole (Spenco brand) without pulling away from the plastic orthotic. So much for this tape being removeable! However, I am impressed with this tape and will even try it for adhering a throw rug to the floor in the near future.

Works Great For Bucket Lid Foam! - The Senior Perspective
Perfect for attaching foam seats to bucket lids. The tape holds the foam to the lids well. I use four strips to cover the lid adequately and then place the foam. I'm using the lids on double stacked buckets, for height, and placing them wherever needed.I can't walk far or stand long so I need seating until I'm ready to move on to my next destination, inside or out. I have one in my kitchen that allows me to sit while performing various tasks, and I will be placing one in my laundry area. Amazing what you can do if you can sit while doing it. Wonderful, very portable, seats that I can take anywhere I go.They are sticking fine so far, but if they don't I'm sure XFasten has a tape that will do what I need.Original: This tape didn't work for my original intended purpose. I am trying it again for a very easy task.

Difficult to Work With
The tape holds OK but I found it difficult to work with. I had to try several scissors before I found a pair that could cut a piece without chewing up the tape. Even the good scissors requires cleaning with Goo Gone after every use because the tape fouls up the blades with a sticky residue. The protective paper easily peels off the tape which is a plus but also a minus because it often comes off before you are ready (during cutting and handling) which results in the tape bunching up and sticking to itself. This can make it difficult to get a flat surface. The side of the roll is very sticky so you have to be careful where you put it down because it will stick to things and pick up dirt. These sticky sides will also grab the tape while you’re dispensing which again causes bunching and premature loss of the protective paper. On my first use, I threw out more tape than I actually used. I’m using a Tyvek envelope to store the tape which works well. Despite the stickiness, it doesn't leave residue behind when you remove the tape which is a plus. In the future, I’ll stick with the Duck carpet tape (npi) unless I plan on removing the tape. In which case this stuff would be better because of the lack of residue. One trick I found helpful is to apply the tape to the object before you cut it. Then use a box cutter to make the cut which works well.

Surprised at the Quality
This is the best double-sided tape I've used. It has already paid for itself after less than a quarter of its original length has been put to work. I've used it for several 3D printing jobs, to mount a tool rack, and to assemble a science fair booth with my granddaughter. It has held up well in all applications, and is easy to peel. Instead of the usual cheap paper coating to protect its sticky upper side, the designers came up with a bright white, almost plastic flexible band that peels off easily and will not tear off in your fingers. When a mistake assembling the booth was noticed, my granddaughter was able, with a little help from me, to remove the piece that she had added, and without leaving any permanent residue to spoil the booth's appearance. It forms an uncommonly strong bond, yet even a child is safe using it. Impressive. Good design all around.

Didn’t do the job!
This tape was more of a messy headache for me. First of all it DOES NOT work on most surfaces like I understood from the product description. It only works on solid and wooden surfaces which wasn’t why I bought it. It never sticks to my sofa, mattress or fabric cover of my baby crib....it is also extremely difficult to cut even with a good pair of scissors. The problem is even worse because the layer of white cover on the tape can be easily ripped using your bare hands! So I keep struggling to cut the tape and its cover at the same time and I always fail. I end up cutting just the cover with the tape itself intact and the result is a big sticky mess that is hard to take off my hands as it sticks to my hand far stronger than it sticks to other surfaces! I was very frustrated that I ended up rolling up the mess and throwing it all in the garbage. It did stick however to my wooden floor so it might be useful to keep the rug in place. A pack of three is too much for a rug though!
