Buy this dress! I am 5’5”, curvy, and bought the size 20 dress in Navy. Definitely measure yourself and compare against the seller measurements as sizing runs very small. I am usually a 14/16 in US sizing and I the size 20 fits me just right, not too tight, not too big, and I don’t need to wear shapewear underneath. I also have a little bit of a tummy and this dress makes me look so streamlined and slender with curves in all the right places. I also bought a trumpet petticoat (which I am wearing in the photo) to make sure the skirt poofs out for that hourglass shape, otherwise it does fall rather straight. Very pleased overall with the purchase.

My measurements: 43 bust 36.25 waist 46-47 hips, 5'4 height, I got the 18 based on the size chart in the product pictures, NOT the linked amazon size chart underneath. Pics are of dress on directly out of the bag it arrived in, no shapewear, a contour bra and 2 (edit: 3) inch pumps on. I was worried it would be too long but only an inch or so brushes the floor with the pumps on which is perfect.I also thought it was going to be more.... reflective because i thought the sequins were blue and silver. They are not there is metallic blue threading and purple sequins. Edit: sequins are all blue, some of them just look purple in the pic lighting. More understated which I prefer so the visual appeal's even better than advertised in reality as far as I'm concerned.I think the bottom moves well as is (in one of the front facing pics I'm resting on my left leg, you can sort of see the movement at the bottom there), I was going to get a petticoat for more volume but I don't think I need it. Edit: it's been a couple days and looking at pics again I personally would prefer a petticoat for the flare. I'd rather do that than have extra tulle sewn into the dress, because that'd make it fall strangely I'd think. Doesn't look bad as is though....adding this to say I think the mermaid flair volume is really a matter of preference and I do'nt think its a negative if the dress is more flat without a petticoat).I did feel a bit of a tug around the hips when I sat straight down, but I stood back up and tugged the sides at the hips a little, then sat back down, had plenty of give to cross and uncross legs. Comfortable to sit in, no tugging or pinching at the waist for either sit.This is my first mermaid dress and I couldn't be happier. With some shapewear for the tummy I'm sure I can get more contour in the body, but it falls pretty flatteringly as is. No loose threads, no sequins falling off, no shoddy hemming at the neck, sleeve ends or bottom. No zipper snafus (sometimes zippers are sewn in where they catch on the fabric, I have this problem often with cheaper one piece dresses and skirts), no irregularites with the pattern of the sequins sewn in. The dress fits as advertised and seems to be made well. I think for the quality this dress is a bargain.Edit: havent worn it for my event but everyone ive shown this to has said its stunning hands down. They cant believe i got this on Amazon. This piece is great to convert people who think shopping for clothes online is nuts lol.

After reading the reviews, I ordered two sizes up. It did fit well and the dress was not of bad quality; however the shoulders were very “square”. And the see through fabric on the bottom of the dress seems to taper off like someone had cut it with child’s scissors. I ended up returning the dress because I mainly didn’t like the square shoulders and how high the neckline went up. I absolutely love mermaid dresses, but this one was just not for me. However, I did think the color and beading was very pretty.

Dress is very small for size . A size 22 fits like a 16. Zipper sticks :(

This a beautiful gown I wore to my daughters wedding. Although it fit around , I had to have it drastically altered because the length was way too long. It was complicated because of the majority of the decoration was toward the bottom of the gown,so the gown had to be removed at the waistband and the bottom of the gown had to be moved up about 7 inches. The lady that did the alterations did a fantastic job and in the end the gown was actually stunning.

I had SO MANY compliments on this dress! I wore it for my son's wedding and felt so beautiful in it. It is beyond worth the great price! I am a bigger girl. I normally wear a 14/16 dress. I did have to size up to an 18 because of the cut of this dress. I have a tummy and also wanted to cover my arms a bit. Although this is a form fitting dress, the texture of the fabric combined with the sequins took care of my tummy insecurities. The sleeves were the perfect length to hide what I didn't want uncovered, yet I was cool enough for their outdoor September wedding in Ohio. The dress fit comfortably, so I wasn't tugging at it one bit. The uniqueness of the bottom of the dress is the best part! It swishes and flows so elegantly. I COULDN'T LOVE THIS DRESS MORE!
