Novel Brands K9 Chill Dog Cooling Collar (Small/Medium 8"- 20")

I have been using this product for years and went to buy another one and was shocked at all the bad reviews! My pug has severe overheating issues and this immediately cools her down every time! You have to put it in the freezer for 15 minutes, I got a second one so I could have them on rotation. My first one has lasted me over two years, and it's not dead yet! A little fraying but doesn't affect the durability or function at all. You would think she wouldn't like getting it put on but she comes right up to me because she knows it helps her feel more comfortable! She looks pretty funny for a little bit, but she's a great sport and doesn't mind! She will go from wheezing to no panting at all in seconds! I cannot recommend this product enough, paired with the polar pooch as well your easily overheated dog will be comfortable in no time at all.

I bought these years ago for my dogs. Needed another one for a new dog. These hold up pretty well. It does start to fray after a while, but it does its job well. Freezing it for a bit helps it stay wet longer.

Easy to use and seems to help cool my Pekingese when out for a walk, in the car, or just hanging around the house.She can't tolerate the heat at all.I took off a point because it doesn't stay cool for long and I have to keep wetting it.She finds it comfortable and doesn't try to get it off.Will be buying another to keep as a spare. I keep the cooling collar in a zip lock bag in the refrigerator.

For $16 or so, I should have expected less than I did. This dog chilling collar is a 12 inch long, medium blue, stretchy tube of thin, absorbent synthetic material that fits over a dog's neck like the fake turtle neck that people may wear to imitate a turtle neck sweater without the warmth. The chill collar is supposed to be moistened and pulled over the dog's head, then over the neck and the regular leash collar if the dog is wearing one. There is a slit in the middle of the chill collar through which you can push the regular collar's steel ring so the leash can be attached. The theory is that the water absorbed by the collar evaporates, and the conversion of the water to vapor requiring energy absorbs heat from the dog's neck under the collar. This cools the muscles of the neck and the major underlying arteries and veins, thus cooling the dog, especially its head. It should make the dog more comfortable when exercising in hot weather, and more important, help prevent heat stroke and exhaustion, to which dogs are more susceptible than humans. Although I accept the theory and the physics of it, the results are in question. I see no apparent reduction in my dog's fatigue, nor in the level and duration of his panting after 20 minutes of walking and brief periods of running. It is possible that the very high humidity we recently experienced interferes with the evaporation from the collar enough to reduce its effectiveness. It may also be that a 120 lb, short haired, very muscular dog requires much more surface area for heat exchange than the 12 inch collar provides. Maybe a larger design of the same material, like a cape that covers most of the back, would provide more cooling. It would also reduce heat absorption by reflecting more sunlight away from the dog.

Bought 2 of these for my sister's dog's birthday, and they arrived quickly. He has a very thick undercoat and weighs 82 lbs. The L/XL fits him well, and he loves it - wants to extend his walks in the heat and humidity of GA. My sister says it works well, is lightweight, and remains cool. After you wet it, you can put it in the frig or freezer for a few minutes before putting it on the dog. My golden has cancer, and I don't want to tax her body walking in the Texas heat, so I'm now considering one for my girl.

I use this on my dog every time we go out! Where I live we have lots of dog friendly places i.e. (Dog bars, breweries, outdoor centers, etc) and I couldn't take her to those places without her constantly panting from being too hot. I needed something to cool her that would stay cool and that was easy for me to re-cool (aka I can't freeze something when I'm out lol). This has worked wonders!! All you have to do is wet it, ring out excess water and you're done! (For extra cooling I have put it in the fridge, but it's not necessary). It stays cool for hours! Highly recommend!!

I purchased this for my dog to keep cool. My dog is gentle but this pad punctured from her rounded toenails which I trim regularly. The Gell has oozed out all over the car mattress she regularly lays on. What a mess! Even in her fur. It says non Toxic but was a waste of money with only one use. Maybe would work if you dog has shoes on. I wouldn’t trust it otherwise. It did feel cool to touch as long as you flip it over often.

I'm very happy with the cooling collar! I live in Arizona and summer is here. I walk my dogs in the early morning or later in the evening, and it is still hot! The collar helps reduce their body temperature and reduce panting. I have always brought a cold water bottle for them to drink and poor over them. However the heat still drys really fast on the dogs. So I put some on the collar and it stay cool for quite awhile. I have also used the collar in the house and the panting has stopped. In the house it stays cool for about 2-3 hours. Perfect for the extreme heat in Arizona! I'm ordering 2 more!

WOW! I am beyond amazed with this product. Stays cool for hours! I will be ordering one for myself too lol! It will be perfect for both my dog & myself on hot summer days or when we go camping. The cooling colar & cooling mat are a big hit with my boy & do exactly what the description says. I highly recommend!

Horrible quality .. nothing scientific about this ..it's just a polyester cloth . What a waste of money .. regret buying this

I am using the coolers and they do help in the heat but I find they are a little larger than expected and therefore are a bit ‘ dangly’.
