Complicated Hearts (Book 1 of the Complicated Hearts Duet.)

Firstly I know that this author writes complex and different stories so I went into this book not being sure if I’d like it or if it was to my taste, but let me tell you I have ZERO regrets. I felt for both Breslin and Asher. I got both sides of the story and honestly I don’t think that one is at more fault than the other. Sexuality and hormones and special moments don’t always work, life is more complicated and this book clearly demonstrates that.Secondly, Landon. Can I keep him? I can’t decide what it is I like about him but he just comes across as a well developed character who has strengths, flaws and doesn’t pretend otherwise. I like that he also doesn’t know what sexuality he is or if he does, he’s not bothered about labelling himself. All he knows is that his feeling are real.Last but not least I also like that this book is primarily Asher/Landon because I loved seeing their connection grow. I connected with them and I’m rooting for their happiness however it ends up. I do know that part 2 is going to be one heck of a ride and I can’t wait to dive in!Thank you for giving us these characters, I love them!

Okay.... I don't even know what to say. This book IS EVERYTHING and contains a bit of everything too... It touched me, and moved me and had me wanting to absorb every single word. It's real, it's raw, it's hugely unique and such a passionate story.This book has it all, it full of passion, angst, love, trust, lack of trust, happiness, sadness, excitement, thrill, suspense... You name it, this book has it. And holy moly, it is H.O.T!!! My word, some of those scenes had my own blood pumping!I need to leave this review really vague. Partly because I went in pretty much completely blind apart from the odd teaser here and there, and honestly, I think that's the ONLY way to do it. But also, because you need to go on this rollercoaster of a journey yourself with absolutely no outside influences. Just experience it and make your own mind up.This story revolves around Asher, Breslin and Landon... And honestly, you will fall in love with these characters. Their stories, their passions, their love have all been cleverly interwoven by Ashley Jade, to create an incredible first part of what is going to be an amazing duet.Ashley's writing just gets better and better! She has created a wonderful story, with wonderful characters. You really must give this book a go, even if you think you won't like it! Please... 5 Big Complicate starsFantastic read!!!I started this book and couldn’t put it down, what a story! I read it in one sitting it is so good.I am not going to give away any spoilers just going to say how the book made me feel as you need to just give this book a chance and you will not be disappointed.It is a flows perfectly and you can’t but help fall in love with these characters’ they are so well developed Ashley has brought them to life, I love we get the story in different POV gives us so much insight to how the other character’s act and how they are feeling. You feel the desire, passion and how they are struggling with feelings and who they are. Your heart breaks for them.If someone asked me to pick one of the male leads I would not be able too, I love them both for different reasons. So I would be #Teamgreedy.!The s**scenes are emotional, and very hot and steamy of course. I have to say I love Ashley’s book they just seem to get better and better with each book and I am so into this story now. I don’t know how this is all going to play out for Asher, Breslin, and Landon but I can’t wait to see how it does bring on book 2 I can’t wait.

*spoiler FREE*This is a definite change of pace from what we've seen before from Ashley Jade but she has smashed it hands down!Holy hell did I love this book. I picked it up and didnt put it down until it was finished. I loved the characters and the whole dynamic of the relationship between them and watching them and the story develop.The thing I love about Ashley's characters is how real they are, none are perfect and they have everyday problems just like us and that makes them so relatable.There are no words for this, I think my brain and heart have melted from the awesome. As I got closer to the end I wanted to slow myself down but I couldn't. Ashley Jade dragged me in and drove me to the end at top speed.Its wonderfully written and well-paced and doesnt lack in any aspect. It has addictive characters, a captivating story, plenty of hot and soooo much teasing (meanie! :p )I honestly dont know what to do with myself I kept turning the page when I got to the end hoping for more and there wasnt any left for me to read. I'm not going to spoil it but the end has left me hightly anticipating what comes next in the best way I absolutely cant wait to find out what happens in book 2!An absolute winner and no way is 5* enough for this. Im blown away. A definite addition to the reread pile.

There are only few authors I've read in recent months who can constantly keep me on my toes and make me hold my breath until I finish reading their work. Ashley Jade is definitely one of them. This first instalment of the Complicated Hearts Duet was written in such an endearing and heartfelt way I simply couldn't put it down until I reach the end and then ... I wanted to cry, scream and break something all at the same time because I realised I need to wait for the second one - that's how consumed I was. I was so enchanted by the way she describes the scenes, the main characters and their feelings that I felt like I was there, with them, every step they took. Ashley Jade cemented her dark romance author status with me as the best one of read it a long while. I can't wait to read the second instalment of the duet. Congratulations on a job spectacularly done! not a lot of author can captivate their readers the way you do it!
