Born for Music
Yep, its write everywhere on it's packaging and It's where they put the seed.I'm not in to music production and I'm not an audiophile, just another man in love for music, but I definitely developed knowledge and "listen ability" after many years.Let me tell you my journey.. this has been my history/upgrade through the years: ibasso IT01 (DD), shure 846 (DD + BAs), moondrop Starfield (DD), Fiio FH5 ( DD + BAs) , and then the FD5 (DD)DD; Dynamic Driver - BA; Balance armatureSource; Tidal master - DACs; iBasso DC05, EarStudio ES100MK2 and other players/dongle but nothing that exceed the 100 bucks. Now, my main "problem" is the trables, as I am very sensible to those but I still like crispy and open highs when they are well reproduced. The IT01 and the 846'S has been my "to go" for almost 3 years, loved them ( 846 heavily eq/tuned) but they are out of production now and I don't know much about the new series.I decide to follow the hype train and try the Starfield, as being single DD it's almost always a safe shot. They do have the "wow!" effect for theyr price, very detailed crispy highs and an almost holographic soundstage, bass its just right to me with a good kick and a nice extension, mid`s are OK, not recessed but not stellar, still above its price category. The problem with those little gems (wich still deserve 5 stars) is that they are not for every genre of music, and unfortunately I listen to everything.. literally. The sound start to struggle to stay cohesive when reach certain freq. or when too many instruments play simultaneously, and this will let you lower the volume as they became fatiguing, or tweak them with an EQ to smooth all the edge and end up loosing too much in term of "musicality"The Fiio FH5.. ok here it's interesting. As being an hybrid config the details are very good and we enter in to a different tier compare to the Strarfield (£100 vs £175), at least for most aspect.Mild V shape sound signature, but elegant and controlled presentation of the tone, bottom to top. this is where you start to "hear things that you never hear before".They are less sharp then the 846, but the BA drivers used for the mids and the highs sill sound a bit harsh to me, sometimes metaliic, but just in the "safe zone"They are well balanced, somewhat colored and fun, even if slightly, woth a little boost in bass and sub-bass region that doesnt bleed in to mids, they are probably a safe and fun buy for many peoples.Sound stage, second problem, they dont know what is it. The vocals literally sound in your head, (for depth) but they managed to maintain a good instrument separation, there is still some "air" and separation in the note, but again, everything is trow in your face. Its not something that you can't live with, somebody like to be "in the track" when listen to music. Width its just about but nothing come from " out of your head "As said, they are a nice entry level in to refined Hybrid sound signature , but fell some of my most important check list points.FD5, Born for Music.Did my homeworks and decide to raise the budget while try to stay in the musicality filed rather then search for a more technical and advanced configuraiton. At this price range there are some Blessing 2, that i would try, but again im super sensible to those BA driver, and its a shame because they really are capable of miracle if tuned well.Single DD on Steroids, period. Harman curve with a light boost in bass region, the best soundstage i ever experience in-ear, close to over-ear, top to bottom they are the most musical and enjoyable in-ear ever heard. Open and airy highs that never become sibilant or painful, SUPER deep and punchy-kicking bass, sweets mids that are not forward but neither hide or shadowed by the bass. For all the aspects that an earphones can be measured they tick all my list and they are lovely tuned." The 6th star "has to be given to the musicality, they dont reproduce, they sound! its somtehing that you can only understand if you ever listen to some top endgame headphones/earphopnes . The cohesion deliverd by the same driver its exceptional, and this is the kind of product that let people discover new genre of music and enjoy even more the favorite one. I dont want to go to technical with those, as they pack a lot of features and improved never seen in a single driver config, and i want you to give it a try and experience your self, but i suggest you to go on the official website and read all the tweak and the effort that has been put in those. From the materials used to the fact that they are "semi open".They dont seems to get the deserved hype on line, dont know why, but if you are in to MUSIC you cant go wrong with those. Yes they are pricy, but they reflect the quality in all aspect. They will be my "audio nirvana" for a while no doubt.Extra: They looks outstanding and precious, and the filter tweak it work as intended, they are a bit heavier then others but the fit its harmless and secure. The package reflect and exceed the price too. There are better product for this price? dont know, but for my taste im in heavenEdit; burn these for a good 150 hours, they will get better and better.. grab a copper cable if you want to smooth the high region, but honeslty I like them with the stock silver and norrow noozle. Spinfit cp800 its a must for the norrow noozle

Heard details I'd never heard before
When I got these I wanted a song to test my new headphones and I decided Iron Moon by Chelsea Wolfe would be a good choice. It has very heavy bass with whispery vocals and I know it really well. When these headphones showed me detail I had never heard before I fell in love with them. The vocals were clear, I could pick out the kick drum punctuating the heavy, distorted bass, I could hear the attack and sustain of the cymbals in the middle of the noise. All in all a great set of headphones.

Cannot recommend enough
Great sound overall, lots of modification possibilities. 2 pairs of changeable nozzles, also nozzles from rha fit, so it gives five different tuning presets by just switching nozzles. The sound is very authorative with great bass. Mids are decent, not lacking in any way. There's lots of trebles depending on the nozzles used, one can tweak trebles to one's preferences. The only thing to mention as negative would be fit, they can take some tip rolling to figure out how to put them into ears best. Also, great package, great case, lots of tips. Amazing cable. Really decent for the price. Highly recommended

Superb fiio high end mobitors
Superb quality of sound punchy with oodles of detail.Cable is great, accessories are top notch..mmcx cables are a superb addition to this item.Cant really fault them. However they're a little uncomfortable due to the size of the metal housing which rubs the rear inside of your ear. Other than that absolutely superb.
