ACANARegionals Dry Cat Food, Grasslands, Biologically Appropriate & Grain Free

This is great food. I love that it is sourced where it is made although I was not crazy that from now on I have to buy from the USA Orijen/Acana in Kentucky and not Canada where I had been buying it since my cat was two months old. He started looking kind of rough, no shine to his coat and he was not as energetic. I found other comments from cat owners that said the same thing and that something had to have changed in the ingredients. I tried to order from Canada but was not able to once my address comes up. I got in touch with Orijen/Acana and told them about the change caused problems, and they sent me sample 12 OZ bags of Acana and Orijen Regional Red. I have tried them with Beau and he LOVES this Acana Appalachian Ranch food. So, hopefully this will do better with my cat and I can again have faith in this food. For the money it costs, it should be made like it used to. Now that I know that will not happen and I cannot order from Canada anymore.

My girls are getting older and I want to make sure they’re getting all the vitamins and minerals they need to remain healthy for their second act. We were able to switch so seamlessly I thought, ‘There’s no way this can be good for them’, but after just a few months i can see a marked improvement in both of their energy levels, overall health and appearance. This brand came highly recommended by my vet and chewy rep.

My cat is unable to digest this food. After 4 days of being hospitalized, he now has a tube in his esophagus for feeding and meds until he recovers, if he recovers. I was given a handout by the Veterinarian of these new grain free foods and their correlation with heart disease. Acana was at the top of the list with the most reported findings, mainly in dogs but also in cats. They've had several law suits from heart broken parents who trusted them and their product claims. These pet parents were trying to provide a better quality diet at a hefty cost only to end up with either a dead pet or a very sick one. Not all pet owners are able to afford a severe, chronic illness that could've been prevented by AVOIDING THIS FOOD! Hills Science Diet is the only thing I will ever buy for my pets after the nightmare I had to go through but even more so, what my poor little guy is going through. I'm just shocked that I found out from my Vet.Pet parents, if you're interested in changing your pets diet, please contact your vet and ask them first before you make any changes. Also, do your research. 524 reports of Veterinarian diagnosed heart disease have been reported to the FDA and they're finally cracking down on these companies' products and their ingredients as it relates to chronic diseases

The media could not be loaded.  Beautiful bag, resealable, great marketing and better than most in quality. Trick- If you have room to store this large bag, you're very careful with reloading your food storage saver to operate from, good about resealing, then this product is for you.Caveat- multiple cats is ideal for this shipment. I personally have one Queen 😺 in my home. Thereby requiring strategic and careful storing and/or shelf life should be considered.My girl loves it! ⭐

My cat loves it. We started using this brand for our dogs as treats after an unfortunate incident with cheap dog food, and it really helped their eyes and coats. It was only natural to start the cat on this brand, too.My cat has a bad habit of tearing open bags of cat/dog food, so we dumped all the food into a large plastic bin, which is now one of his favorite places to perch. The first night he smelled the food, he wouldn't even eat his other food (also made by this company), so I think this is probably his new favorite flavor.The food is a bit pricey for my taste. Even buying it on Amazon doesn't cut the costs much, if at all. I bought this one because it saved me maybe five dollars over buying it in a store? So far, the extra cost is worth it though, because my cat loves it, and I don't see anything bad on the ingredients label. I was pretty convinced we should be feeding him Science Diet because of all the vet reviews, but my mom was unhappy with the sugar levels, so switching to Acana made her a lot happier, too. It's really nice to see a product with a lot of things healthy for a cat (meat), instead of things healthy for humans that you often find in pet foods (corn, etc.).The order arrived perfectly on time (unlike the Acana Medowland flavor I bought at the same time, which still hasn't arrived), so I think I'll get this stuff again.

I never buy cheap grocery store cat food. But even the better quality cat foods in pet stores don't match up with ACANA. My cat is adult - to senior. In just about 10 days on ACANA Wild Atlantic her skin issues subsided, constant scratching and hair pulling subsided and she suddenly acquired the energy of a younger cat. My cat LOVES ACANA Wild Atlantic!

Okay- feeding cats is an art. I've had cats do fine on thing that others won't. I was feeding Royal Canin for 2 years as 2 of mine grew up on it. My third cat developed an allergy to the dry catfood. Some time back, I tried Instinct rabbit- they aren't even interested in it. I bought the lamb type and the beef type of this food at the same time as I bought Merrill's grain free and Blue Buffalo. First, I tried Merrill Grain free- same problem, then I tried Blue Buffalo- same problem- itchy feet and itchy back, hair coming out, scabby skin along spine. I bought Arcana on a whim- the lamb and the beef thinking they wouldn't like the beef. Welllllll- Surprise! 1. All three cats prefer the beef, 2. after a short time, all three cats have improved hair coats, 3. No allergies now and scabs gone, hair growing back in. I DID read the Cons on this are that this feed is a little high in phosphorus and calcium and a little low in Omega 3s. The max % was now known by the reviewers but those two ingredients being high may have impacts on kidney and urinary tracts in cats. So it may not be the majority of the diets around here. I am also feeding cans. But they love it and eat a lot of it. SO I may have to ration.

I was happy to try some new cat food that seems full of wholesome natural ingredients. Unfortunately, our cat did not like it. She ate a few bites at night and then went on a "hungerstrike" till the next day. It's unfortunate, it seemed super, but now she's even "afraid" to try her old formula that she loved before. A bit finnicky I guess, but cats are like that.

Primero, les pido disculpas por mi español.Definitivamente es un producto muy bueno y siempre les alimentaba a mis gatos con esta marca, Acana. Pero esta ocasión les causó la diarrea (tengo 4 gatos y 3 de ellos han tenido diarrea) y me enteré de que solo faltaba un mes hasta la fecha de vencimiento. Me la entregaron el 7 de octubre, la guardé en un lugar seco y fresco y la abrí el 8 de este mes pero la fecha de vencimiento era 11 de diciembre, entonces me llegó ya con una fecha muy corta al recibir el producto. 2 días despúes de que empecé a alimentar a mis gatos, tuvieron diarrea y tuve que cambiar de la comida. Y ya casi se paró su síntoma. Ya no estoy segura de si vuelvo a pedirla a Amazon en el caso de que no chequen la fecha de vencimiento antes de vender.
