I bought this as a birthday gift for my 10 year old daughter, who loves STEM and computer programming. She was already familiar with Scratch (programming language), so she was super excited that these have a Scratch interface for programming.After a few *minor* hiccups getting everything set up initially (which required about 5 minutes max of grown-up time to assist with), she's been off to the races, and I don't think she's put it away for two weeks. She's loved following the easy step-by-step (iPad-based) installation instructions, but she's also loved experimenting a bit, both with the construction and with the programming. I mean, why stop at building a "paper airplane launcher" if you can also program it to launch at your sister when she gets too close to your desk?All in all, great toy -- great for creativity and hours of inventive play. My daughter loves it, and so do I.P.S. -- The pieces are also compatible with a more famous brand of building-block toys...

Great kit! The app is very good. Different skill levels for coding. Fits standard Lego if kids want to get a little more creative. Great starter kit for kids getting into coding Legos.

I am a teacher and bought this to try in my classroom. Product is well put together, I'm impressed with the number of different things you can build with the included pieces. Comes with a paper manual with instructions for building a few different designs, but I tried the app for my first build. Many more blueprints on the app. Took me about an hour to build an at at look alike. It even walks! I have not used the scratch integration yet but will be trying it out soon. Comes with a plastic storage case for all the pieces which is a nice inclusion.

my son who is crazy with legos loves this set a lot. he is fascinated to be able to put something together (with or without instructions) and hook up with the motor that makes the "thing" moves. I'm glad he's able to self-entertain with something creative and non-screen time related.

Update : I was finally able to get the control to work. It looks like it only applies for level four-electric engineering and up. The manual is far too simple. There's a ton of projects there but everything is electronic. Only a few of the basic /mechanical ones are included in the manual. The kids tablet I purchased my kids doesn't allow download and my phone had to sacrifice. Check on the system compatibility before you purchase.If it works according to the product description it'll be five stars. Came in sturdy box. Parts are randomly bagged so I don't understand why there need to be so much waste. Easy to built and taken apart, just like Legos and fairly sturdy. Mechanically fun with the motor. However there's some problem with the app. I was able to pair my phone with the motor but that's about it. Each model only shows you the instructions on how to build it. I could not get the remote control nor the coding part to work, that makes this a very expensive kit that doesn't do much. I tried to go to the company website, but it only shows me more commercials and they're all in Chinese. No useful information, no instruction video, no Q&A, nothing. Very frustrated.
