Good quality knives nice and sharp strait out the box I have ordered a strop to keep then in good order. The Lime (basswood) blocks are clean no knots or shakes which all help to give a beginner a head start in this enjoyable hobby.

This set is very good for beginners. I was able to make quite a few nice little carvings from it. The wood is very good quality and the knives are very sharp and glide through the wood. I would definitely suggest wearing gloves when using this kit though, as I had the misfortune of slipping with one of the knives and giving myself a very nasty cut on my thumb which needed stitches. But overall, the kit is very good.

This is quite a nice little kit. I only wanted something to get me going. the wood seems decent quality, I've used two of the smaller pieces and they turned out ok. the two knives seem identical but are comfortable and do the job. and the presentation box looks lovely if your buying it for a present. It's not a big kit but it was enough to start me off. would recommend.

I'm still in the middle of carving my first project which is a bunny for my fiancé and I've taken pictures from start to my recent progress and I have to say the knives and the wood are so easy to use I've been having great fun carving with them, but I did sharpen them before using them as what other professional wood carvers recommended doing when receiving knives etc before use.

Wood is as described; nice grain and easy to work with.Knives are surprisingly handy! Very sharp and handles are decently comfortable. Blades are secured well enough for light work without any looseness evident. Doubt they would last long with proper usage but easily will carve the dimension blocks included.

The blades aren’t sharp and the handle is slippery as someone else in the reviews mentioned. The slip that shows you two thing that you can make is so small it’s almost unreadable and my eyesight is very good, well compared to my mums. It is very fun however and I’ve been doing more research and found a brand that specialises in wood carving stuff and the knife came razor sharp so I suggest buying a kit from beavercraft or flexcut as it will save you a lot of time compared to a blunt knife. I just bought a knife from beavercraft as I already have wood from this kit. It comes with enough to last you a while. It’s not the worst kit you can get but you might as well get a better one

Blades become blunt quickly and the handles can give you blisters from the grip, but it does work, I just need to sharpen them somehow.I'd say this product is good for beginners/learners.

Couldn’t be happier! Really good value for the price, very comfortable to use definitely more comfortable than the Stanley I’ve been using! I’ll let you know how long it takes me to break them as I am new to this whole whittling malarkey 😁Edit: still whittling away with these knifes and I use them a lot. Very very happy would highly recommend 👍

Rather small but ok to handle

Bien pour essayer ou commencer à bas coût, j’ai sculpté les manches des outils, les blocs de tilleuls étaient ok pour ma part, aucune idée du traitement du bois. L’acier des lames est cheap il faudra affûter très régulièrement.

A great little gift for all ages wanting to keep the hands and coordination tuned. An interesting starter craft.

The overall sizing of each component was scaled to expectation. although when using the knives the bigger one of the two had dulled very easily. the wood was pretty good quality altough the big one tends to split very easily when trying to begin triming.
