Testament

Testament is just that. A Testament to everything Shaun - EXCELLENT!
No matter what, you're always going to love a Hutson book. To me, there's something very comforting about his books, like having the company of an old friend. I first read The Skull and was hooked. But Testament is so amazingly good. I won't spoil it, but it's a direct sequel to one of Shaun's older books, Renegades and features the return of the now 'well seasoned' ex CTU agent, Sean Doyle. As usual, Shaun does not disappoint and he takes you down to the very depths of Hell with this book. So what are you waiting for. Stop reading this and go out and buy it. Buy it multiple times, give a copy to your friends, but it's a must read for any Horror and especially Hutson fans.To Shaun. Never stop writing. You are the best writer out there and I look forward to your next book and to where that journey will lead. Thank you for all the years of bone crushing, blood spattering entertainment. To Darren (Shaun's Publisher) Thank you for keeping Shaun in our lives and for all of the backbreaking hard work that you do, each and every year and for keeping us with a lifelong fix, that is Shaun Hutson.

Decent story but very wordy for a Hutson book
Not read a Hutson book in years and I had a big collection.Wanted something different after a few Stephen King books so when I saw Sean Doyle was back I couldn't wait. This is a sequel to Renegades which I didnt realise. It has the usual gun fights ('the smell of cordite was strong in the air') and a nice bit of the supernatural thrown in there. Not so much a horror novel although there is a couple of horrific scenes/chapters but more action thriller to me.Now my only complaint is that it was very king like with a lot of excess chapters about nothing/page filler.Maybe its me and not having matured along with Hutson as I've had a very big break from him (9 or 10 years) I don't know but I felt myself distracted and not glued to this book as I remember I used to be with his earlier work.

🙌
Sean Doyle is back........Well in Iraq anyway where he now works until he's drawn back into his old role. Hunting down an old nemesis he swears he watched die at his own hands years earlier, he's back too though but how? Can Doyle get the man again and end it once and for all?Shaun Hutson knows how to draw you in from the first few sentences on the very first page. Very descriptive writing and leaves nothing to the imagination. Gruesome in some parts that are the embodiment of depravity, showing how mad and sick some people can really be. Some think I think we all already know. Waited so long for this next instalment in the Sean Doyle series and I certainly wasn't disappointed 😊.

Finally, Doyle is back and the wait is over! I've been looking forward to this book for quite some time. I'm greedy so I have this in hardback and kindle format too.I'm a huge fan of Shaun and have been for far many too years to mention! Doyle I think, will always have a special place in the hearts of all Hutson fans.I won't spoil it for you, but needless to say Shaun has done it again!... when is the next book out Shaun? 😊

Back to his best
You really need to read ‘Renegades’ before you read ‘Testament’ so you know why Sean Doyle is so upset. However, it is explained in the book. I found it quite wordy for a Shaun Hutson novel, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Blood, gore, and supernatural horror, just like his good old days

Good but
I enjoyed this book as I have enjoyed all the others I have read by this writer but it was not one of his best I found that his newer books don't seem to have the edge his earlier books did and this one was no different I hope he can get back to his old style with story's that kept you reading

On Top Form
An amazing book, Shaun Hutson triumphs again. A continuation to one of his greatest books Renegades starring the brilliant character of Sean Doyle the counter terrorist agent. What starts like a breakneck paced thriller with some brilliantly written action set pieces then turns into a crazy occult horror, with superbly written characters who you really root for and an insane plot that'll keep you turning the pages until the early hours. Highly recommended this is Hutson at his best.
