"Reiki, Pure and Simple" is a wonderful book for teaching Reiki to children!
I was looking for a children's book to teach my 12-year old grandson Reiki. After buying one only to discover that it was over 100 pages of fine print with black and white photographs, I ran across "Reiki Pure and Simple" by Jeanne M. Sands, Reiki Master. I am so happy with this book!! It's simple, straight forward approach along with colorful illustrations would be suitable for a child younger than 12, but at the same time I think it will hold my 12-year old's attention and teach him Reiki on a level that he can easily understand. The pages aren't numbered, but the book looks to be about 30-40 pages long, but contains all the information needed for Reiki Level I. Thank you, Jeanne Sands, for a wonderful children's Reiki book :)

great book
The best book every to teach kids Reiki. I wrote my own 20 years ago for adults but never wrote one to teach children and this book is a great book to teach young children Reiki.

Great - easy read
I think the Reiki Community has longed for a clear and simple book that would enable us to explain Reiki to children. Jeanne Sands has answered our prayers with this wonderful, easy to read, beautifully illustrated book. I think it is great for adults to and am proud to have it as part of my Reiki library.

Simple is sometimes the best approach
Used this with fourth graders and it was perfect. The word "Simple" in the title... speaks volumes to what this truly is in terms of explanation.

but has good explanations that are more scientific minded
I have used this in teaching Reiki Level 1 to my little ones. It's a small book, but has good explanations that are more scientific minded. Recommend for teaching children more about Reiki.

I can't recommend this book because of these issues
This book has a lot of info, but it has some serious lapses re: info and/or typos.Early in the book, the author says children can help others by sharing "some of your energy". Correctly, energy workers do not share their own energy; that would be draining. They channel energy from the Universe. In the chapter about chakras, the author wrote "meridians" instead of "chakras" in one place, saying the body has seven major meridians. Correctly, the body has fourteen major meridians. I would not give this book to a child because of the errors it has, as a child might believe what he/she reads, not knowing it's incorrect. It seems this book was not proof-read before being published.I can't recommend this book because of these issues.

Great for kids!
Just as the title suggests, pure and simple. Perfect layout and design for the younger ones. I even enjoyed reading it!

This is a Worthy Effort in a Much Needed Area
I am grateful for anything that helps highlight the power and benefits of Reiki and will not criticize any book that is halfway ballanced. This book gets off to a good start. I feel the authors still have some work to do, however. I typed in a page entitled, "How can we plug into Reiki energy?" I did a Flesch-Kincaid Reading score on it. (I deleted the references to "Reiki" so as to not unfairly skew the results.) I got a 14+ (College level) grade reading score on it. (The Grade Score on this review is 6th grade level.)Parents will need to read this to their children rather than the children themselves and be prepared to explain a lot of "big" words to them. The Reiki method is presented simply. The language used to do it is not as simple as it could be.Still, this is a worthy effort in a much needed area. Thank you to the authors for breaking into this age group and making something available.
