Dopro Replacement Vintage Ashtray Tele Bridge Cover Bridge Protector for Vintage Telecaster Chrome

Purchased this in chrome for my MUSI Virgo tele style guitar in empire yellow. Wanted a comfortable place to rest my hand when practicing finger picking. Really like the way it looks. It's well made with a beautiful chrome finish and no sharp edges anywhere. Fits nice and snug. The measurement on the inside of the pinch points is 77mm according to my engineer's ruler. I can push it down, but after a bit of playing, it seems to rise up slightly at the rear. It doesn't raise much, maybe 1/2 a mm. It doesn't rattle or anything and it hasn't fallen off. I really like it and would purchase it again. YMMV.Ordered a second one for my Firefly tele style guitar. Went right on and fits nice and snug. No issues with the back raising slightly on this guitar like it does on the Virgo.

Unfortunately, I failed to do the extra bit of research I should have done to ensure this bridge cover was a proper match for my Telecaster Thinline. Now I know that there are two different styles of hardtail bridge for Fender’s seminal electric guitar, and I know now that I have the type without a lip around the edge of the bridge plate. Well, I’ve been needing a new ashtray anyway and from what I’ve read, that’s exactly what almost every guitarist used these suckers for anyway. So looking on the bright side, I’m not out $10, I’m up one new ashtray!

I was worried it wouldn't be gold enough. But it's very nice color. Installed on Wilkinson vintage style bridge with 3 brass saddles. Tight fit, but that's what you want.

It was too small to fit a standard vintage style Telecaster bridge. AND, it was blemished. They did credit me and did not ask for it's return, so it's in a metals recycling tub at the moment.
