This piece is a must for cable preservation. It is a little bit softer compound than I would have preferred but is functional. It also acts as a damper for cable failure during witching. If it were of a more denser compound I would have given it 5 stars but I foresee this piece failing with excessive use. Keeps the cable off the guide and stops the rattling on the trail.

I'm sure this thing does its job. I just got it so that's still undetermined. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the fact that one of the bolt heads is stripped or slightly bigger than all the others. The bolt heads are loosened or tightened with an allen wrench, or with a socket. Either way an allen wrench has to be used to hold it. On one single bolt the head is bigger. So when you try to tighten it the allen wrench just spins inside the head. The 3 others tightened fine. I think it will stay on with the other 3 but it's still very frustrating and annoying.

This does its job well in keeping the winch line from winding in to far. Only thing I wish is they used stainless steel nuts and bolts as the ones that come with it are rusting already. Otherwise a great price and product.
