Breakthrough Rapid Reading

Like all good things, this too comes with time.
I've been using a speed reading program for several years now and I'd read Buzan's Study Skills: Mind Maps, Memory Techniques, Speed Reading and More! (Mind Set) and The Speed Reading Book (Mind Set) . Both were borrowed from my colleges library. All these things have helped me dramatically since I'd have had reading issues. But nothing out of the ordinary, well not for sustained periods of time. I did use a fair bit of the information given but the bigger Speed reading book didn't provide much practical advice as far as I was concerned. Nothing that I found pragmatic anyway. With breakthrough reading however, I've been keeping up at a fairly good pace without much procrastination in between and I've been following the exercises to the dot without any skipping or dithering. I have seen some noticeable improvement in reading. And I mean in daily use, like reading a paper at work or other routine stuff. I wouldn't say it's dramatic, but it's not undramatic either. It's noticeable. It's somewhat satisfying and definable progress which I can feel is working. Even though I haven't been properly reading something for pleasure or otherwise at the moment. It's usually websites or at the moment, articles for my thesis. This book isn't a magic bullet, nor does it promise to be. But it has been delivering to my satisfaction and with constant use and practice I'm sure I will get to astonishing speed. On a side note it has helped me improve my utility of my speed reading program. Buzan's Study Skills: Mind Maps, Memory Techniques, Speed Reading and More! (Mind Set)The Speed Reading Book (Mind Set)

Good for everyone
I have wanted to learn speed reading for several years now and have read other books which just simply did not do what they said!So after a lot of deliberation and review reading (at very definite normal speed)I decided to buy this book, and I have to say it is simply brilliant, very easy to read which helps, very easy to understand and implement, and most importantly it works amazingly. That said you do have to put in the practice but the exercises are simple and effective, went from 200 words per minute to 550 within 4 days, have not done any practice for a couple of weeks just due to work constraints but can't wait to get back to the exercises, am maintaining new speed very comfortably and can't wait to see what I can eventually get to, especially on recall as well.

It's good to read.
There's some good stuff here about reading faster and understanding what you've read. I find if I have to read a long list of something I can do it a lot quicker. But I still read novels at the same speed I always have. I think my main problem is I find it hard to stay concentrated on what I'm reading. Maybe Ruby Wax's book 'Sane New World' will help.

VERY HELPFUL.
I used to be a very slow reader, not because I wasn't concentrated, but I didn't know those little secret that this book explains in order to speed up your reading process.I recommend it,especially to people who are university students like me,people who read a lot and those who love to read books in general.
