Hunter Fan Company 59628 Solaria Ceiling Fan, 72", Matte Black

Great “big” fan. Impressive design and functionality. Straightforward installation.

I purchased (2) of these fans for a great room that required a few extras. 1. Angled ceiling; it’s important to figure out the degree of the angle because hunter has more than one type of angle bracket based on the degree. 2. Six foot downrod; works great but be sure to purchase matching color. Hunter has many colors and don’t forget the wire extensions. 3. Multiple fans in same room; you may have “daisychained” wiring where one set of wires goes from fan A to fan B and then to a wall switch. If you do, don’t worry, with some programming the two fans can work on one switch as long as you are ok with both fans operating exactly the same all of the time. If you have proper, and probably wiring up to code, each fan will work on separate switch as designed. These fans move a lot of air and look great. The light is bright and the wall switch has a dimmer button.

Excellent fan that's easy to install. The blade slots make life a whole lot easier installing the blades vs. having to hold a blade up while trying to screw them in. Always a plus is not needing to balance blades.Moves a ton of air and the wall switch is great.Only complaint is the light. Really wish they would use a whiter spectrum (or make spectrum switchable) vs. the dingy yellowish light. I use this on back porch and also have a restoration 70" I use indoors that also has the same dingy light. Likewise, I seldom use either light. FTR I prefer 6500k daylight for everything.

FALSE - MISLEADING Item Description in the TITLE "Solaria 72" Fan, Remote Control ,..."! There's NO REMOTE of any kind. Only came with a wall switch. We are unable to control the fan from outside. We need a real remote (handheld). Had to wait for an electrician to install this (it's 12 feet high) - now just a couple days past the return date - how could we have known it was falsely described? We trusted the product description! We will revise this review if Hunter or Amazon can fix this - maybe there's a real remote that works with it? Otherwise, please exchange for one that does.

Large fans like this are intended for big rooms or even “great rooms”.My house has a high ceiling in the family room (18 feet) that fortunately was pre-wired for a ceiling fan.Installing the fan required buying an extension rod so that the fan would hang lower than the ceiling (I chose a 6 foot extension). Buying the extension rod requires buying separate wiring that could be extended from the ceiling to the fan 6 feet.All of this was fine. The only unexpected wrinkle was the light switch that comes with the fan. It has a radio control that communicates with the fan that needs to be both wired _and_ have batteries installed. Given that it has electrical wiring for the switch, it’s bizarre that it requires batteries and I am not looking forward to removing the wall plate, unscrewing the switch, then swapping out batteries. Maybe they’ll last for years, but I have no idea.Other than that, the fan works great.

The media could not be loaded. I took a gamble and bought amazon open box for $330, instead of $550 new. Delivered yesterday, found an installer on thumbtack $185 showed up at 9am and was done in an hour!Glad i went with HUNTER its quiet, no wobble, high quality. NO NOISE is important for a bedroom fan!I installed duracell 2x AAA in the switch remote in hopes they will last longer. batt replacement requires entire switch plate removal.I’d prefer just to have a remote.

The fan looks good and is rock solid steady when operation. It is quiet and moves quite a bit of air.

The media could not be loaded. Hunter makes Great fans, easy to install, and don’t over think the switch installation. Just use the “KISS method” of single switch wiring! I love all 3 of my 72” Hunter Solaria fans!
