Garden of Life Fish Oil Supplements, 60 Count

I recently purchased this item because I suffer from hypothyroidism and one of the things Dr Amen suggests in his book Unleash the Power of the Female Brain is a good fish oil supplement. Well, after much, much research, I realized that not all fish oil pills are created equal. I was using a brand I bought from my local grocery store and I was having to take 3 to 4 huge pills a day just to get the recommended 1000mg a day, the reason being that they use low grade fish oil and a lot of fillers that are bad for your health. With this pharmaceutical strength pill I only have to take one pill a day to get the recommended dose, in fact one pill gives you 1100mg a day. Plus this particular formula has also Vitamin D3 which is a plus. I never have fish burps, and in fact if I do burp its an orange taste. The pill has this yummy orange taste, and absolutely no fish burp. The company is environmentally conscious as well and they use good products and quality fish. The packaging is very attractive and I like that because it says they care about not only what is on the inside of the box they sell but how their product is viewed and packaged. The have so many fish oil options as well, from people with triglyceride preference, to kids, to teens, to cardio specific. It is a bit on the pricier side, I was taking two a day and I realized id have to buy two boxes a month, a bit much for a single mom so I settled for one pill a day. Im on my second box and I also ordered the teen formula for my 16 year old daughter and the kids formula for my son. I know the grocery store one is half the price but I just cant put a price on my health and the health of my kiddies, I love this product and I will continue to budget it into my expenses so we all continue to benefit from fish oil.

I love that this is a one a day as I hate taking pills. No fishy after taste. My ophthalmologist recommended that I take this for my chronic dry eyes.

No stomach upset or bad breath from these fish oil capsules. Hoping the omega-3 oils will help support good cholesterol and lower my bad cholesterol. Also love that Vit D is included in the capsule.

Its a great product. I had to switch cause it was causing my insomnia. I tried to see if it was the culprit and yes it was. My mom still takes it.

I love this product. For the last twenty years my triglycerides have been about 270, and I was not able to bring them down. If anything, they went higher...over 300. My VLDL cholesterol (the really dense cholesterol particles were close to 60. I had to do something. My primary care person wanted me to start taking fish oil...3000 mg per day. Since I really liked a few other Garden of Life products, I decided to try their highest grade of fish oil...the Minami Platinum Omega 3 fish oil. My primary care person retested me after a month of taking GOL fish oil. My triglycerides went from 269 to 119. VLDL cholesterol went from 53 to 23. My HDL cholesterol went from 49 to 64. And my mind actually did get sharper along with better memory capabilities. I am 70 years old this month and have a 26 year history of dealing with heart arrhythmias, afib/flutter. This product has minimized these palpitations a great deal. This is just my story. I do not know if there is anyone out there that would have the results I have gotten...but it is worth a try. And, of course, always check with your cardio doc and/or primary care person before taking any supplement. The other option that I have found that even comes close to the quality and effectiveness of GOL's Minami Platinum fish oil is Vascepa made by Amarin Pharmaceuticals (a U.S. based company in New Jersey). It is made in Dublin, Ireland. And the cost is about $356 for a month's supply which a lot of insurance companies refuse to pay for. And it only has a component of EPA...no DHA. So I definitely believe I am getting a really good deal for $36 for a month's supply of GOL's product. Their EPA and DHA is much higher than most other supplemental fish oils on the market. And I have no burps or reflux or any after taste. I keep the product in the frig and eat it with a meal that has some fat in it. Just my story...just sayin'

I was a skeptic in the beginning but now I'm a believer. Fish oils, omega 3s, DHA, EPA and the whole lot are of critical importance to our short and long term health. Since I can't see the future I can only review the short term benefits. In short, better moods, reduced inflammation (muscle aches, tendons, even headaches- all reduced) and better overall feeling of wellness.This Garden of Life pill is easy for me to swallow and delivers high quality ingredients. Fish burps? Nope. The slight orange flavor makes those virtually none existent. In fact, I'm taking a double dose (2 pills/ day) and I taste nothing gross.These guys have a high quality product I'd recommend.
