Good investment.
Very helpful in making stereo system improvements. Covers all of the basics very well. You will know much more about setup when you are finished.

EasyRead with useful information
This is a book you can read in one setting. But it’s made to be used as you grow or change your 2 channel stereo system. Simple, practical and effective guidance to choosing, purchasing and setting up your listening space. I will refer back to this for years to come.

the best audiophile book
I wish I had read that book before I started to build my audio system . That could have same me time , money and frustration . Thanks to this book I reevaluated all the components in my system and I happy to see a big difference , thanks Paul . I also suggested go to Qobuz and use the PSAudio playlist , really good music .

Paul being Paul . Always great . Great tips from the master
Simple , easy to implement tricks that the author has developed over his many years as a leading and respected authority in audio. My simple system improved significantly, and I didn’t consider myself a complete ignorant before buying the book . It is worth every cent . Please buy the CD as well or else the book loses a lot of its impact

Good info, weird format
There's lot of good info in this book. The problem I have with it is that you pay quite a bit of money for a large book that you think is going to be filled to the brim with useful stuff, but the format is weird. Large printing and huge margins. Waste of space. This book should have been half the size and maybe 2/3 the cost.

WOW
Few things I've come across in my attempt to recreate music & movies in my home with a 2 channel set up have been obviously life changing, This book is without a doubt the most profound thing I have ever encountered. No need to search Google or Youtube and hope people know what they are talking about. First try with this method & magic happened. The key is to not think ( I know this step already I'll just skip ahead ) you need to follow everything in order properly & depending on your equipment & room the musicians will be right there in your home. Thank you so much Paul I no longer need to spend tons of money on fancy equipment to get quality sound.

STEREO: MUSICALLY: STILL VERY STRONG AFTER ALL THESE EARS! (without the "Y")
Interesting book by Paul, who has transformed from his California humble beginnings, and now residing in Colorado, but does not give much due credit in this book to the real East Coast industry pioneers who made this Electronics Audio and Stereo industry grow and accessible to the masses: Fisher, Marantz, Bose, Harman, AR, etc. - Paul is now a comfortable audio guru in Colorado with his PS Audio company, but in the "high end financial spectrum" of the industry, not accessible to many in order to convert them to the best stereo world of sound. Clearly, the consumer electronics industry has changed in the last 70 years, as well as the musical listening habits. This book can help educate the new listeners and help them expand their musical home environment, as Paul has taken the time and effort to provide a well thought out book, as well as his constant educational chats in social media. In summary my friends, it is worthwhile reading!

Great for the Beginner
I am a "wanna be" audiophile. I have spent a year and a half buying equipment and gleaning audio nuggets from the internet. I simply could not hear the quality sound that reviewers described for the equipment I bought. I have a pretty basic system. After a few hours with this book and downloaded test music, I finally got my sound stage. I spent four hours listening to music that day and three hours the next. This was achieved with just the basic set up chapters.I see a lot of negative reviews. The fault might be in the title. If an audiophile knows how to set up a room and equipment, then they will be disappointed with the content. If you are a beginner trying to find that next level of sound, this book is indispensable.

Best investment I have made on my music system
I bought The Audiophiles Guide (and a download of the Reference Music directly from PS Audio / Octave records). If you don’t have room space, this book is probably not for you.You need to be able get your speakers at least 1m / 3ft away from the wall behind them (ideally 1.3m or 4ft), at least 0.75m away from each side wall and about 2.5m apart from each other. That needs a room at least 4m x 5m and ideally 5m x 6.5m plus.If you have the space and a good system, then the book and Reference Music (a must) will definitely give you the most incredible uplift to your listening experience and pleasure. It is the best UK £52 (incl the reference music) I have spent and you could spend thousands on equipment and not achieve similar results. The soundstage is very realistic in width, height and depth. Instruments and vocals sound as realistic as any recorded music ever will. Listening to music is now a huge pleasure and you here so much more - it’s addictive.Unlike other guides, this one tells you exactly what to do and how to fix unwanted problems .... rather than saying “move your speakers until you hear xxxx”.Follow the instructions meticulously and give yourself a lot of time (4hrs plus) as I found to my surprise that even 5mm changes have a very noticeable audible effect.I solved the problem of speakers far into my living room by not using spikes. I use isolation mounts and these sit on furniture moving sliders that you will find on Amazon for less than £20. I also use aUV pen to invisibly mark the right positions for the speakers. I can push the speakers out of the way if we have guests and back to their precise positions afterwards.
