Moves Right Along
Stone Barrington novels are just pure fun. They are easy reads, with enough interest to be page turners. There is plenty of wit and humor, food and drink, sex and murder. This one wrapped up at the end nicely. If you are looking for a DEEP mystery, this is not it. If you want a fun escape, you will enjoy the book.

Superhero lawyer that all men would love to be
Good looking, smart, rich, cultured, tough and good with the ladies describes Stone.Out fixing the worst of the worst evil villains while being connected to the most influential people in the world is another way of describing Stone.Shoot first is a great action adventure where the inventor of software for driverless cars is attracted from every possible direction and is fortunate to hang Stone Barrington on her side. A great and quick read with plenty of entertainment.

Ending
I thought the book fantastic but the ending made absolutely no sense. It was like you didn’t know how to end the story and just decided to make it so you could use same bad guys again in your next book.

It's ok
Another good Stone Barrington book. I give it a four star simply because it's way too short for the amount of money I paid. That being said, Mr. Woods' books with Stone Barrington at the center of the plot are becoming boring. Even with a "new" plot, they all play out the same. Hop into bed with a new woman, run away to his other houses, outwit the bad guys. Seems like the same story over and over.

Original Plots
One of the issues with creating a genre character that the reading public adheres to, is to continue to be able to develop original story lines. Shoot First has all of the usual and expected Stone Barrington ideosyncrases but in this book lacks an original situation for the protagonist to extricate himself from.

A different Stuart Woods?
Although a typical Stuart Woods novel, it seemed as though it were written by another author. The story was good but very choppie. One paragraph on one action then a quick jump to another action etc. Not the continuing storyline that many of his other books contain. I liked it, but I cannot say it was a favorite.

Name stated wrong
Could not stop laughing when Stone kept saying Owaki's name in correctly during their meeting in England. Loved the book overall
