There may be an on/off switch on the top but it doesn't work on mine to do anything and the instructions are in some oriental script that doesn't help at all. I made a mistake buying this this mini car vacuum, but it does come on when I plug it into one of the 12 V sockets in my Mini Cooper Clubman and it does suck up the sand and gravel that ends up on the floor mats. One thing this did help me learn about the Clubman is that the sockets are not hot when the ignition is not turned on.I was tempted to return this but it seemed like too much trouble so I just marked it down to a learning experience. Just because a product does not have a lot of "honest and unbiased" reviews does not mean that it is a good product.

perfect for a neat freak. picks up most trash so i dont need to use the vaccums at the car wash every week.

Junk. Suction is horrible. Tried to vacuum my car and looks like it may swirl around a little dust but does not do the job.

You get what you pay for… cheap. The hose is soooo flimsy.
