After having sworn off energy drinks years ago since crashing heavily one night after a late night cramming session in college, I thought it would be time to give the energy drinks another try.This one piqued my interest for several reasons:1) Low sugar in comparison to other drinks2) The sugar is regular cane sugar and not a substitute3) It promised to deliver energy without the typical energy drink's crash.4) Guayusa. Just what on earth is that? Did they misspell "Guarana"?I first gave this drink a try back in a cafe and then again when they were handing them out on a street corner. The first time was the regular flavor and tasted rather mediocre, but the energy hit the spot and I didn't feel the crash afterwards. I was sort of eased back into a state of regular alertness.The second time I was given the berry flavor to try. Now this had a great taste to it and lacked the awful aftertaste that I noticed in most other energy drinks. For the record I'm not a fan of carbonated drinks and avoid them, but this was bearable for me. My brother also tried it and noted that it was like an intense can of green tea.The can claims that Guayasa is used by Amazonian hunters for mental strength and courage. I'm just a simple guy who tries to get through a day at the office and this seems to do the job for me just fine.Edit: After drinking the berry flavor for months, I decided to try out the new orange passion version. I'm usually good with orange juice and such, but this had an exceptionally strong lime/zesty/citrus flavor to it. Mornings have been looking somewhat dreadful as I struggle to finish up this case of orange passion. My own personal tastes have a great dislike for lime and zesty flavors so if you're anything like me, run as far away as you can from the orange passion flavor of this product. The berry flavor is still ok though.

This is such a great product, for the love of god, whatever you do, do not change your formula or anything that will alter this product in any way, it is perfect the way it is. Great natural flavor, no artificial sweeteners or aftertaste, and makes you feel great. I originally fell in love with this product when I first discovered it in my local grocery store and tried all 3 flavors they often sold. I fell in love with it and decided to subscribe here.The dark tea flavor with the hint of natural fruit taste in the background is perfect, the clean energy it gives you is more like an energetic yet relaxing euphoria rather than the "time to rip somebody's head off" caffeine rush that a cup of coffee gives you...which I DO like as well...but I'll take the relaxing and wakeful euphoria gladly, especially in the morning. I love grabbing this out of the fridge and throwing in my backpack for work every morning since I don't have time to make or get coffee. I work in technology and this product really does give me the relaxation and peace I desperately need every morning in the office. Clear-headdedness, energy, and yet calming. I know it sounds silly, but this product really helps me cope. Perfect as is, please don't add any stevia or crap to it down the road. Take a lesson from why people like your product as is to begin with and continue to make money off of glad customers like me!

The media could not be loaded. At first the flavor was off putting and gross. After drinking Runa for about the fourth time I began getting used to the taste, and now I like it. I found it was worth continuing to buy because indeed it does give me an energy boost without the heart palpitations that so many energy boosters give me. Coffee gives me anxiety and most energy drinks are bad for you. I can’t believe the focus this stuff gives me! Some days I’m fatigued and unable to focus on my work, and within 15 minutes of downing one of these I’m back at it. Lasts about half the day and doesn’t cause you to crash, more like a slow energy decrease. I highly recommend guayusa to anyone!

This is a review for the Original with a hint of lime:I think first and foremost this product has a bit of an acquired taste. Instead of saying that it tastes wonderful or horrible, I'll try to describe what it tastes like! I am a 3rd year medical student working strange shifts in hospitals and I personally don't like coffee(there are healthcare workers like me out there, although few and far between!!)The shortcut approach is that this tastes almost exactly like Brio/Chinotto if it weren't sweet or sour and just...'herbal'. If you've never tried that particular Italian drink or the generic forms of it, Runa tastes somewhere along the lines of a plum or prune based herbal tea. This is going to be off-putting to a lot of people, but I love prune juice and herbal tea...still, it took two sips for me to get into this. If you're a picky eater/drinker I would highly recommend you buy a can of this in a store before buying a bunch of these. While many will say it isn't bitter, it does leave a strong initial impression. It's not bitterness per se, but it is an herbal potency of some sort...hard to describe but I got it a lot when I was a child and my grandparents made me drink Chinese herbal concoctions. It's almost like a strong tangy feeling(like that first sip of really potent lime juice).That being said, there is NO SUGAR. It tastes like unsweetened, chilled herbal prune tea. I liked this fact because most of the energy drinks out there feel so intensely sugary(probably to mask the nasty B vitamins) even if they are zero calorie. This tastes like tea and you won't feel guilty after a can, then you spend some time to read the ingredients and realize there are only like 4 things there and you can figure out what all of them are. Huge pluses in my book!The energy kick it provides is not as intense as things like Monster or Red Bull. I can drink a can in a few gulps and not worry about palpitations, and while some people here state that the let down from the caffeine isn't as quick (i.e. crashing), I personally haven't had problems with crashing from Red Bull or Monster in the past.Bottom line: Tastes like herbal prune tea, all natural and not sweet, clean, but herbal tasting. Good if you feel like you want a more adult energy drink but don't like coffee!
