G8216EU Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner 473ml. Streak free. Pro strength

When it comes to detailing my car, I can take 8+ hours. One of the most important and potentially hardest things to get right is the glass. For a couple of years now I've been using HG mirror and glass spray which used to cost £1 a bottle. It is fairly easy to use and doesn't smear. However, once the price increased to £3 I thought, "Why not try a specialist automotive glass cleaner, for £10 it must be amazing" which is why I bought this Meguires glass cleaner. Sorry but, it's horrible. The first time I used it I spent 20 minutes trying to clean the smears it left behind ( And I always use freshly cleaned microfiber towels, 1 to prepare, 1 to apply and 1 to buff ) In the shade the glass looks good, but as soon as the glass is in direct sunlight, you can see what looks like a greasy film. Over the next 3 months I tried using this product another 4 times but always got the same results so had to resort to fixing it with the cheap stuff. Because it's expensive, I didn't want to throw it away so we started using it for inside the house for mirrors and our glass dining table. But again, it left smears. So now it lives under the kitchen sink never to be seen again. I have loads of Meguires products of which many of them work great. But for interior glass, and if you're someone like me who's not happy unless it's perfect, go get yourself a bottle of HG mirror and glass cleaner for £3.

I applied as directed, shook bottle sprayed on drivers door window, ( already cleaned with just water ) polished off excess with new ( Washed ) micro fibre cloths. To achieve smear free glass,, polished to clear and smear free finish ( apparently removing product )and then sprayed water with hose, along with adjacent passenger window ( Cleaned with plain water like the drivers glass ) to check water repellence and beading, and both were exactly the same.I repeated the same procedure again on drivers window and the results were exactly the same as washing with plain water and polishing with microfibre cloth.Anyone got any helpful thoughts ?

I tried replacing another well known car window cleaner brand for this one due to online recommendations and curiosity. My last bottle of the alternate product lasted ages. This product feels like it takes a little more buffing to remove. The main reason for low rating is the packaging feels weak. I could have just been unlucky but the trigger broken within the first few squirts when trying it for the first time which was really dissappointing. The top doesn't appear to unscrew either so I can't easily transport it to another container i'd have to buy myself unless I just the top with scissors which is absolutely not something I'd expect in this price range.

I thought this seemed a bit expensive for glass cleaning spray but this isn't like your standard household glass cleaner. After watching the Meguiars 101 series on YouTube (worth watching for any amateur detailer) I realised that you only need about half a trigger pull for each of the side windows, 1 spray for the rear (depending on the size of your rear windshield) and 2 for the front. Use 2 cloths, one to spread and a clean, dry one to buff. Results are fantastic, no streaks and excellent water repellency - when washing the car 2 weeks after application, the side windows still repel water as if they have a ceramic coating. Doesn't repel water for as long on front or rear windscreen but that's down driving on wet winter roads and having to use wipers nearly constantly and a lot of screenwash, I would be very surprised if any sub-£10 glass glass cleaner would survive a week of winter driving!

It’s expensive for what the product is but I am genuinely impressed at how well it cleans my windows without too much effort and doesn’t leave streak marks and after marks.Very happy with the product but would prefer it to be a lot cheaper : I wanted a top quality product so if you’re looking for something that just works then you should defo buy this and take a hit on the price because it really does work
