I was a big fan of Confetti Culture and found myself so inspired by it that I had to bring it to work with me just to finish it. I also brought it with me so that I could implement items in the book as quickly as possible. While this is on paper directed towards hospitality leadership, I do not think it should be limited to that. Any leader who is looking to motivate their employees should pick this up. I specifically loved the author's breaking of gender norms when describing third-person leaders in his examples. I think that books in this genre tend to use a lot of words and provide not many chances to put those words into actions and this book does the opposite.There are a lot of leadership/self-help books out there but you would be remiss to pass on this one.

Even though it is directed towards the hotel industry, this book offers great solutions to typical problems in any workplace. It is all spelled out for you in each chapter. Everything from how to improve company meetings, employee reviews, and basically how to build a team of happy employees.When you read this book, it really makes you want to start making changes in your own company! Your whole outlook becomes brighter with each chapter! I found myself going into work each day suggesting some of these ideas to my co-workers. We have seen some of these problems in our own office and would like to see some positive change. I am taking the book into my manager tomorrow!

After reading the Confetti Culture Playbook, I immediately decided to purchase 5 more copies for some of my future leaders in my organization. This book breaks down best practices and provides an in-depth guide to leadership by example, breaking down barriers and leading a successful high-performing team. James' experience working in hospitality allows the book to provide real-world examples of how to lead, motivate and develop associates.I highly recommend this as a quick read and encourage those who finish it to pay it forward to future leaders, hospitality students and anyone who wants to promote a positive culture in their organization.Well done!

James is spot on! Working in a broad array of different industries over the past 33 years, I can tell you I've seen a lot. I've learned a lot. He not only writes about it but he lives it! I got the rare opportunity to see him speak at a National Conference in Florida, for Residential Property Managers. Every company should know that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of you and your clients. That simple. Managers should step up and take notes. Your employees are your most expensive and valuable asset. Set them up to succeed and so will you.

I appreciated that the author took the time to really get into the weeds about issues both in and outside the hospitality industry that don't get talked about enough.There is a sincere desire to improve the culture of the workforce through recogniton and empowerment of employees in the readers words.Highly recommend for anybody looking to make a positive impact on their peers. Great read for all business types from small to corporation.

This is an excellent manual for formulating a healthy culture in any industry! I agree wholeheartedly that motivating, engaging, and empowering employees will dramatically boost the customer experience and company profits. The book is extremely well written and well organized and should be required reading for anyone in a leadership role! It is packed full of great ideas that are easily adaptable to any work environment and can absolutely improve the bottom line. I'm looking forward to trying out some of these new ideas in the retail industry!
