Pivothead SMART Architect Edition - Coal

Since I participate and also photograph motorsport events including riding my Yamaha R6 I always wanted a POV type of camera Where I can see myself doing things so I can learn from my mistake and correct any bad habits. Unfortunately the battery for this thing is absolutely horrible. I did a recording session while walking around a night market event as a test run and the pivothead said the batter would last about 25 minutes without the fuel mod at 1080p and that I feel is incorrect. My glasses would record close to 10minutes and then the indicator lights would warn the batteries are low and then cut off around 12 minutes. Also keep in mind the glasses does get really warm to the touch against your face while you use the product. I also tried to use the fuel mod that is supplied with the glasses and they do not extend the battery life that by much.Before purchasing the product I was super happy they had replacement mirror lenses for the POV Glasses as I love the green and also purple ones but it said out of stock online at the time and said they will be in stock in October but I feel that was not true since I look on the site everyday trying to order the lenses. After checking on it for a while now Pivothead completely removed all the mirror lens items from their site but still have the picture advertising as if they did which I feel is false advertisement. I was going between this and the Go Pro Hero 5 Black Edition and I'm starting to feel I've made a bad decision and should have went with the Go Pro Hero 5. Keep it mind the only thing that sold me on this product too was the mirror lenses and now they don't even sell those.

The glasses are very good. I initially was hesitant about the touch controls, but they are much more practical and responsive than I thought they would be. The cameras quality is great, no issues there. I'm not sure why the other reviews were so harsh about the battery life. It's a battery inside a pair of sunglasses! They don't exactly have a lot of room to work with. Sure it is short, around 25 minutes while recording, but if you only turn them on when you're about to film something, they're perfectly fine. It's quite easy to see the notification LED's when wearing them, so it's fairly easy to tell if you're recording and if the battery is running low. It comes with the fuel mod. So if you know you're going to be filming a lot, then bring it. Unfortunately, I had to end up returning them because they were just too small for my face. I'm 6'2" and I know I have a big head, I have to shop around for a while before I find good fitting sunglasses. I loved the idea of these, so I thought I would try. Overall, they're a good product. You'll enjoy them. If they we're ~10% larger or had an XL size, they'd be perfect for me.

Received them on Saturday. Sunday morning they were boxed up and ready to be sent back. The internal battery lasted 7 minutes. The fuel pod that came with them lasted 3 minutes.... For a total of 10 minutes. The whole 10 minutes they were on they shut off 3 times by themselves. Every time they shut off all of the settings reset. As far as I'm concerned they are junk. Whole lot of hype about nothing.

camera is great. battery life sucks. but: i got a nice 10000mah powerbank and an angled usbcable which I simply have connected all the time and the build in battery is no problem any more. I can shoot now for hours (until the memorycard is full..)

I bought these glasses back in July here on Amazon. I was kind of weary about everything they claimed but minutes after I opened the box, I was well rewarded. These glasses are extremely easy to use with their touch sensors. Not to mention some of the best HD video I have ever seen. I have set my regular camera to the side and have made these my full-time videoing camera. Sound pickup is outstanding and the glasses themselves are comfortable and I use them full-time as sunglasses as well. I had a 6 month warranty on them and right at the 5-month Mark had a minor problem with the glasses. I contacted pivot heads customer care. Customer care was extremely easy to talk to and quickly responded. The media could not be loaded.  Very disappointed!!!!Worked for about a minute, charged it fully and took it to work to do an instructional video. Went through all the trouble shooting steps on the actual website, spent a good 6 hours trying to fix. Did not fix the issue. At $300 dollars I was hoping for it to work for at leas 10 minutes per charge.In theory I would give this product 5 stars if it worked. Pivothead SMART Architect Edition - Coal

Someimes it records and some others it doesn't even starts.It gets overheated on the left side. I've received it about 1 week ago. It maybe need an upgrade or something. I'm not happy, I had so much expectation. Today I had lost all my day of recording. Didn't record not even a single image.
