So far the best of the lot...
There are a lot of knock-offs of this fixture. Most of them I have tried have been inferior - one brand so much so that I returned them and will not buy them again. The Elcos, overall, have been the best of the lot.We use them with LED 50W-equivalent bulbs, and so far they have been happy. The overall design is still a little awkward:- The locking system in the track is just not terribly well designed. The Elco ones work OK, but they frequently feel like they are going to break as you twist-lock them into place. So far they have not. (The other brand did - regularly - bend or break on installation).- The bulb is not easy to change, as it can be tricky to get all the wire back into the socket so the bulb fully seats in the fixture. This can be worse with the bulkier LED designs. But even with all that wire, some can be hard to get the internal ceramic socket far enough out to get a grip on it while you insert the bulb's prongs into the tiny little holes. Occasionally they dislodge about the time you get it all back together. My conclusion is that if you need replacements, these are a pretty good option. But if you're stating from scratch, I'd probably recommend a different fixture design.

Elco ET528 does not work with LED bulbs, low watt bulbs
I have many of these light fixtures from Elco and other brands. The Elco ET528 is the only model which does not function with low watt and LED bulbs. If you want to install money saving, energy efficient LED bulbs, you should buy another brand. I have found the Direct-Lighting 50010 to be a superior product, plus it costs $10 less. Easy to Install and Replace
The track lighting fixture was easy to install and replace. The wires broke on the old one. It was up in running a few minutes after unpacking.

Would not choose this item for new installation
Moved into an existing loft with these track fixtures. Not aware of any transformer failure issues (not sure if it's the same brand of transformer as fixtures but would guess so) but do have the following comments:1. It's difficult to change bulbs in this fixture - because in our place they're 12' up, have to remove the fixture, change the bulb (can take 5 min) & replace in track.2. The conventional bulbs that go in these run between 20 & 60 Watts, so you could have 500+ Watts on a circuit which may be more than the standard transformer and/or dimmer can handle - see next note.2. Was able to replace with DIMMABLE MR16 LED's, but found that transformer and/or dimmer needs more load, so on each dimmer circuit need at least one "conventional" (i.e. normal wattage) bulb or all bulbs will flicker and circuit may intermittantly turn off for about a second. I have a circuit with a different brand of fixtures taking 5 MR16's and was able to replace all with 5 LEDs no flicker/cut-off so I suspect the ELCO transformer.3. The LEDs should last many years drawing about 9 watts each and the overall load with 1 conventional 50W bulb will be 75-100+ W. Have tried this on 6 circuits with between 3 and 9 bulbs each (1 in each circuit being conventional). No flicker, no cut-out.4. Unfortunately one of the fixtures itself is not working and we need a couple more, so I'll be purchasing some more.
