Simon & Schuster Tokyo Ghoul, Vol. 9
A**.
A captivating read and uncharted territory for those only familiar to the anime.
Tokyo Ghoul Volume 9 collects chapters #80-89 written and artwork from none other than Sui Ishida. If you are like me, and have seen the anime before reading the manga then this will be a surprise and a completely new experience as this is where the second season (Root A) of the anime branches off.We start off 6 months after the CCG's raid of Aogiri Tree, with the success of the operation Amon has been given a promotion to senior investigator and being appointed a partner and dealing with the new experience. On the ghoul side of the story the group of Banjo, Tsukiyama and Kaneki are still on the hunt to learn the intentions of Aogiri Tree and more about who Rize was and her significance to Kaneki and Aogiri Tree.Overall a fantastic volume and since it was uncharted territory for me I was captivated every page, certain things are shared between Root A but there is a significant amount that wasn't touched on in the anime. After the ending I'm glad I've got volume 10 on my shelf ready to dive into next. Buy this and the next volume, because you're not going to want to stop.Hopefully you found this review helpful and happy reading.

Favoruite manga ever!
Sui Ishida Thanks so much for the amazing story. I try to support mangakas as much as I can, this manga was totally worth buying!Digital versions are no where near as good as the physical copy. The story of Kaneki is very captivating. If you love a little bit of darkness and tragedy but also redemption, this is the manga for you.
