Nice Product
The description in this ad is very lacking, and directions for the product is non-existent. So I’ll do my best to include that type of information in this review. Please see my attached images to see how the product looks when you receive it.These are bike specific, not universal. These will fit any 2nd generation SV650, so these will fit any 2003-2008 SV650s or SV650n without modification. The full fairing bikes will require a hole cut in the fairing of each side. The cone-shaped spacer is actually anodized black, not a raw silver finish as shown on the Amazon ad. The included bolts are 10mm diameter and a 12.9 grade.Initial opinion: These feel very robust. They appear to be designed well and machined very nicely. They fit our 2005 SV650s perfectly. Fingers crossed that we never have to put these to the test, but if we do, I’ll be sure to report back with how well they held up and how well they protect the bike.Installation: When staring at the side of the bike, you will see three bolts on the frame in which these may fit. The bolts are oriented to appear in a “V” shape. Use the forward-most bolt on each side. The shorter puck with the cone-shaped spacer goes on the left side. As well as the shorter bolt. And the longer puck and longer bolt for the right side. Use a small amount of blue Loctite (#242 or #243) on the threads of the bolts. I don’t know the torque spec for these bolts so I just snugged them up very tightly. And that’s it.

but these seem like they would do the job
Haven't had a chance (and don't plan on it) to test these out, but these seem like they would do the job. Knocking off one star for the lack of installation instructions available and for finish. Essentially these are a plastic (presumably abs) that appears to be 3D printed. I'd hoped for a bit more polished look rather than being able to see ridges in the plastic (from a distance they look great). As far as installation, Shogun provides enough information on which slider goes where (shorter puck with the spacer goes on the left with the shorter bolt if you are sitting on the bike). What Shogun fails to elaborate on is the torque spec. "Torque to OEM spec." Well OEM spec can be quite difficult to find.. I ended up torquing to 40 lb-ft, which is what I found in a service manual for second gen 03-12. The bolts you will be replacing are the forward most engine mounting bolts so you don't want to just "tighten really tight". I used a bit of red loctite, but the torque spec exceeds the break torque for red loctite so you really should be fine without any thread locker (the stock bolts appeared to have none). Also, some people mention using these a footrests. Not sure how putting your knees into your chest is comfortable, but don't do this..

Perfect fit for SV 650S 2007, savede my bike, purchased again!
Fit my 2007 SV650S perfectly. I was a little confused on the slider puck at first but I figured it out. This is my second set, the first set protected my bike perfectly. I laid my bike down going about 35 MPH and only had to fix a few things, had a little scuff on my mirror it buffed out, snapped my left peg, left shifter, left bar end, left clutch and it scraped my left frame slider grinding it down. only costed about $150 to get her back into 99% new condition.

Always go with Shogun
Perfect fit for 2007 SV650 naked. I’ve always went with shogun on all of my MC’s! Never failed me, (all 5 times I’ve laid a bike down). They also enhance the appearance of bike!

Some Good Stuff
Bolted right on, no problems. Just wish the old ones were as easy to get off. Definitely going either with plastic or open ended sliders after having to remove them with a hack saw, also the old aluminum one's (Not Shogun) made a dent in my frame where it bent over. These are made out of UHMW plastic (Google it) which is some ridiculously tough stuff, but I doubt they'll cause any frame damage given they're plastic.

It fits
It's lighter than expected. I hope it protects my bike in a slide. I would of gave it 5 stars if it came with instructions, both guards are not the same so you have to go back and forth to see which side goes on where and what I didn't notice was one bolt is slightly longer than the other so it took some time to figure out. Overall it fits

Worked perfectly
I had the displeasure of testing these out and can honestly say they worked great minimal damage to bike only brake pedal got damaged and no other damage and even the sliders took hardly any damage i would 100% recommend these.
