Selected Poems of Emily Dickinson (Barnes & Noble

Got it for Rs 237. Pages 222. Purchased as a gift.
Price of book more than the number of pages. Size a little big than my palm. No annotations. Should have had a portrait of the poetess for better info. Contents is useless because Miss Dickinson didn't give titles to her poems. Gave it to my cousin for her birthday. She liked it.

Great for those who aren't native speakers!
Remember seeing the translated version of #60 printed on a wall, in the waiting room of doctor's surgery...I didn't understand the meaning of the poem back then but somehow it just stayed with me throughout the years. The book itself arrived in perfect condition and I would recommend Emily Dickinson's works to those who are new to reading poetry in English. There are some pages at the back which act as index which I found helpful.

A treasure of beauty
The one thing that struck me about this collection is how wonderfully it's laid out. It makes finding the poem that's wanted so easy. Highly delighted with this wonderful collection.

Affordable selection of Emily Dickinson's poetry
This book is really good value for money - although the pages do have the fuzzy-dull feeling of cheaper paper. But it really doesn't matter, because with nearly 200 pages of selected poems, including the posthumously published volumes categorized as `Life, Love, Nature, Time and Eternity', Emily Dickinson's work is well represented. There is a short, useful introduction by Emma Hartnoll that gives a brief mini-biography of Emily and a quick mention of the sources that may have inspired her work. All in all, this book is an affordable introduction for students discovering the poet for the first time and an inexpensive way for older folk to renew their acquaintance with this extraordinary lady. Where else nowadays could you read a word like `behooveth' in perfect context? (14 `The Secret', P8). The five stars are for content - that is the poems of Emily Dickinson - but also for Wordsworth Editions for the inexpensive price of this small volume.
