S-TEC (Blue) - 90cm Practise Padded Foam Sparring Sword Set with ABS Handle and PVC Core.

These swords have been battle tested by 3 high school boys, and my kids. They only show wear when they are scuffed by concrete. FYI: It does hurt when you are hit. I would not let kids play unsupervised. I only allow arm and leg strikes, no head strikes or jabbing. Before playing, I had my kids hit their own legs so they would know what it felt like and would control their swings. It’s fun to play by “Monty Python Knight” fighting rules: if an arm or leg is touched you can’t use it until the end of a round (yes u hop one legged). It’s merely a flesh wound!

So far the sparring swords are holding up well. My boys 11 and 15 beat each other quite often with them and I am happy that they are holding up. They are much softer than the broom handles they used before I made this purchase and I have had to deal with a lot less crying from my younger son.

Overall, these are good if you just want to bash on each other for fun and don't really care about balance or proper grips. It's pretty much just hard plastic with a foam cover over the blade part. The length is great. The problem however is the balance and grip are pretty terrible. The balance point is above the hilt and below the mid point on the blade, making any kind of practice for spinning problematic. On top of that the grip has a bulge near the blade hilt, again making any kind of swing difficult.

These training swords are awesome!! I bought these to sword fight with my kids. After about 20 minutes of beating up my Son I was wore out! We had a blast! It’s the most fun and exercise I have had in a long time! I recommend these to everyone! They are very tough and have great weight to them!

I got these for my dojo along with another brand the Sunflex Kids' Fandango Striker Sticks. Because I didn’t know which brand would be better. Well now I know these are cheaply made compared to the others. Their super light and bend against any resistance so do not see them lasting long. Will do an update in a couple months
