I always wanted to try an "old school" shave. Excellent!

The ad claimed it was made in America. Box revealed it was MADE IN CHINA. I was going to return it because of the company’s Willful MISINFORMATION!

It’s a luxurious soapy shave with a mug you can hold onto properly.

The ceramic dish is well made, the shave soap is of relatively good quality, and the brush is largely soft and appears to also be well made. With that said, the brush smells like an animal. Even with the complete understanding that the brush head is made from badgers hair, it smells like a zoo. The scent is not that of normal hair but is unpleasant to the point of unusable and despite washing, soaking, and brushing out, the scent remains. I’m praying that the smell goes away with use, but if not I’ll have to find another product.Update: the smell has entirely gone away after several months of consistent use. I’ve added an additional star for this reason and would recommend this product overall.

The soap stinks - literallyThe brush is crudely made and scratchy with hairs falling out constantly.A complete and total waste of money.

Overall ok product. Does what it states but the name is misleading. It’s not high end by any means of the imagination but the price point dictated that already.

Smells good. I was surprised at how little soap it takes to build up a lather and such a smoother shave. Easy to to touch ups as I just grab the brush and apply some lather from the bowl.
