Great for sliding and turning seats
I actually purchased these to mount some automotive reclining seats in a motorhome and needed a rotating and sliding baseplate, these fit the bill perfectly. The specs are a bit confusing as to how much travel is available, and it is a full 7 inches. If you don't install the included end stop pins, you can even get a bit more travel out of it. My only issue is that the slide is aluminum against aluminum with no ball bearings so it is just greased to slide, seems to slide ok, but if you have a lot of weight on it, it will take a bit more effort to slide it. Also the turntable is a flat plate against a flat plate with a plastic friction washer between the two plate thats is also greased to make it easy to rotate. A clamping plate on the bottom can be tightened to make it more firm to rotate, but if you have the slide at full extension and lots of weight on it, the base rotation plate can feel a bit springy and not really firm, but overall still works fine. Quality aluminum extrusions and stainless hardware.

BOAT SEAT SLIDE
I took the leaning post out of my center console and mounted 2 captains chairs in its place. The seat slide is made very heavy and looks to be well made. the swivel part of it [which is the handle in the front] works great but the slide handle is on the side and my seats are close togeather so one seat handle is hard to get at, also the only way to slide the seats is to turn the handle which puts pressure on the slide and it seems you always have the handle to tight or to loose, so that you have to loosen it all the way or it wont slide, or if its a little to loose it wont lock. I just wish the would have reversed the handles because I am sliding the seat a lot more then I am using the swivel part of it, even if the seats were farther apart the handle for the slide still is hard to work. But all being said it is made very well and the price was better than any place else I looked.

Nice piece
I had to make a couple of mods to my helm seat to get it the way I wanted, but the pivot/slider works very well. Good replacement.

works fine and of course if they nmade the locking arm on the side a few inches longer it would be better
